Coco Paws Holistic Dog GroomingRead More
Hello and welcome to Coco Paws, I offer a *1-1 service in my home-based salon catering for all breeds and sizes and specialising in nervous, rescue and elderly dogs. I use a "fear free" approach which is consent based dog grooming. I offer a free "meet and treat" service where you can meet me and your dog/s can familiarise with the smells, sounds and the salon environment and most im'paw'tantly, me as a groomer. *I groom siblings / dogs from the same household together if preferred, especially as some have never been separated from each other. What is holistic dog grooming? It is where I take a canine centred approach, taking in consideration of the salon environment, providing a calm atmosphere, using essential oils to help dogs relax. I do not have cages or crates in my salon, I don't work with restraints unless I feel a blind dog in particular would feel safer with a touch-based approach. Working with the dog as an individual, making sure not only their physical but psychological and emotional needs are supported during the grooming process. Whilst observing their behaviour and adapting the groom to meet the needs of the dog. I groom all breeds and sizes using professional vegan, cruelty free and biodegradable products. I have medicated shampoos and hypoallergenic to assist dogs with skin conditions etc. I work with local vets in the area and rescue centres where dogs come to me from referrals so I can help support your dog's requirements. A little bit about me :) My name is Amanda, and Coco Paws is named after my Yorkshire Terrier Coco who is 13 years old. I am a qualified City and Guilds Dog Groomer, pet first aid trained and fully insured. I continuously develop in my profession by attending further training courses to support my knowledge and improve my skills. I have recently left work in the education sector which I enjoyed for over 10 years, but always had a longing to pursue my dream to work with animals. I took the step and trained as a Veternary Nurse assistant and Dog Groomer. I worked in a salon briefly before opening my own home-based salon in November 2021 where I wanted to provide a holistic and calm approach. I have also travelled around Asia, Europe and North America, volunteering for many animal charities. Some experiences I participated in were, helping release newly hatched baby sea turtles in the ocean, volunteering at elephant sanctuaries, assisting vets with vaccinations and treatments to street dogs and cats. My love for animals is unconditional and I treat every animal in my care as if they were my own furbaby. Thank you for your time and attention.

I trained with Amanda, she is FANTASTIC at what she does and it's so lovely to see her business up and running and getting nominated. No one deserves it more 🥰

Amanda is absolutely devoted to building a relationship with the dogs and their humans. She has been so kind to my very highly strung poodle Darcy, taking time , not rushing her and always making her look and smell so beautiful; using all natural products. I trust her completely ❤️
