Read MoreAdult only, super dog friendly, luxury glamping retreat set in the heart of the beautiful county of Rutland. Just 3 cabins, all stylishly furnished, heated and super dog friendly with enclosed gardens for those precious paws. Everything you need for a relaxing break whether it be getting away from it all with your canine companion, a romantic escape or just wanting to combine the beauty of the great outdoors without having to compromise on the home comforts! All 3 cabins have underfloor heating, internal en-suites, kitchenettes with fridges and freezer compartments, combination microwave/oven (pods) or oven (Shepherds Rest.) Woodpecker and Bumblebee have their own raised decking area; Shepherds rest has its own wood fired hot tub. All 3 cabins have outdoor seating and table, recliners, chairs, fire pits; doggy tepees, paddling trays for paws, dog bowls, raised doggie loungers and canopy over the picnic table. Each of the 3 gardens are fully enclosed - sooo important so that paws can relax off lead (big and small as we have kick boards at the bottom for smaller paws and a higher (1.5m high) fencing option at Bumblebee, . Each are a set good distance apart to ensure you can enjoy the peace and tranquility without being overlooked. Especially important for nervous dogs :-) Escape from it all and enjoy the magic.
Please note - we have designed Rutland Rural Retreats primarily as a retreat for paw families so please forgive us but children and babies are not allowed in order to keep the environment as tranquil and relaxing as possible for paws that often find the outside world a little overwhelming. Hoomans without paws are very welcome too but please note you may hear dogs barking if they are playing!
The site is beautifully secluded and set off the beaten track, on the outskirts of a small historic conservation - Belton In Rutland and just 4 miles from the quaint and historic market town of Uppingham. There is direct access from the meadow via a private gated access onto the Rutland Round circular and miles of off road, livestock free footpaths and bridleways or a little bit further are the ancient Launde, Wakerley Woods and Fineshade woods and lots of other dog friendly places to walk if you are seeking shade during the summer months. For your canine companions you will find a goodie bag alongside your own together with a water bowl ready and filled for your arrival. Dog mats are also provided together with dog tepees and outside beds when relaxing in the garden. Dog bowls, throws and toys are also provided for their enjoyment. Outside the cabin you will find doggy drying mitts for those wetter days together with plenty of poo bags for your convenience. We really do want your pooch to enjoy their stay as much as you. We have often struggled to find appropriate places to stay with our dogs where they can relax too rather than being told they can't do this or they can't do that! We hope we have designed RRR so that they can enjoy their holiday just as much as you! .....and while we're at it, you shouldn't have to compromise on your own home comforts because of it! All three cabins have en-suites and heated floors; Shepherds Rest also has its own wood fired hot tub. You really will have everything you need for a relaxing rural escape with your paws.
Take a look on our social media feeds to see new ariel footage of the cabins, the enclosed gardens and appreciate just how ideal we are for paws here at Rutland Rural Retreats :-)

It had everything our dog could have wanted, the best facilities we’ve found for her in 15 years. Totally secure and peaceful, a place for everyone to relax including reactive dogs.

Miscellaneous Notes
If you have smaller paws or have stayed before, we often accept more than 2 sets of paws. Please email to discuss. Each unit has its own fully enclosed garden within the seclusion of the private 4 acre meadow. Woodpecker pod is the furthest and perfect if you have a reactive dog. Bumblebee has the highest fencing at 1.5m bs 1m for Woodpecker and Shepherds Rest. We are surrounded by walking trails on and off road. No animals are grazed within the glamping meadow to avoid temptation for curious canines but you may pass by horses grazing in the adjacent fenced fields as you walk to the glamping meadow from the car park.
