New for 2025, direct access from the meadow onto the Rutland Round and miles of off road, stock free footpaths. A little further for a leg stretch or short drive are the ancient woodlands of Launde Great Wood and Wakerley as well as lots of other dog friendly places to walk if you are seeking shade during the summer months. For your canine companions you will find a goodie bag alongside your own together with a water bowl ready and filled for your arrival. Dog mats are also provided together with dog tipees and an outside bed when relaxing in the garden. Dog bowls, throws and toys are also provided for their enjoyment. Outside the pod you will find doggy drying mitts for those wetter days together with plenty of poo bags for your convenience. We really do want your pooch to enjoy their stay as much as you. We have often struggled to find appropriate places to stay with our dogs where they can relax too rather than being told they can't do this or they can't do that! We hope we have designed RRR so that they can enjoy their holiday just as much as you! .....and while we're at it, you shouldn't have to compromise on your own home comforts because of it! All three units have en-suites and heated floors; Shepherds Rest also has its own wood fired hot tub. The famous Rutland Water is just a 10 minute drive where you can find walks, cycle hire, canoeing and lots, lots more…..even a beach! So much to see and do in Rutland whether it be visiting historic house and gardens, enjoying the off road rambling, chilling in the seclusion of the meadow or enjoying one of the numerous dog friendly pubs and restaurants we have listed on our website….. Rutlands Rural Retreats is a terrific little Glamping location in…Rutland, it’s in between Leicestershire & Lincolnshire. They have 3 luxurious Glamping cabins & we stayed in Shepherds Hut!
For the hoomans - The cabin had all the mod cons to make it comfy & warm, underfloor heating, heated towel rails, king size bed, fluffy bedding, all the pots, pans & crockery you’ll need, board games, wood fire hot tub, picnic table & seated options inside/outside, a fire pit and a hot shower!! A lovely welcome basket was left with yummy basics to snuffle up in the mornings & some yummy treatos in the fridge.
For me..!! It was SUPAW dog friendly, I mean im literally allowed everywhere. I received a bag of yummy treatos too in the welcome basket & a lovely note on arrival (floofs are VIPs), a fully enclosed garden around our cabin with LOTS of places to sniff, play hide & seek and conduct paw patrols without needing a lead. Even a little den with mats to sleep under the hoomans bed haha - I love a den!
They provided a cute little teepee outside for floofs to rest in while hoomans relax, dog bowls, dog blankets & throws, & a few toys! There are LOTS of walks just off the property, wildlife (sheep and horses), fields, brook streams, meadows to explore, all peaceful & secluded, 4 acres of it frens! Just what I need to unwind and truly relax without lots of doggos around.
At night there is just enough lighting to see and relax, twinkly ones - so pwetty & I even heard my first owl..!! Didn’t see it, don’t know what it is…
I was really sad to leave, it’s the first place we’ve been where I could be in the same space as my hoomans but have my doggo needs met too. We will be going back because I cried when we left but hoomans pawromised we would
Thank you Clare for an amazing stay, the concept and also to her floofs who get a say on all matters floof related. ️️️️️️ Highly recommend. Lubs Baby Worfie.
