Loxley’s Lodge

Loxley's Lodge provides dog friendly self-catering accommodation for up to 6 people in the heart of Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood. The lodge affords easy access to a variety of tourist attractions & activities and has a large network of cycle tracks and woodland trails on the doorstep. Whether you’re just looking for leisurely strolls with your dog or something a little more energetic like canicross or bikejoring, the lodge is perfectly situated. It offers a secluded, private and peaceful base from which to enjoy the forest and although there is a neighbouring property, the lodge has a fully enclosed, reasonable sized garden with a 6 foot solid timber fence around most of the boundary. There is a small section of fencing along the front consisting of 2 parallel rows of wire mesh fencing approximately one foot apart and 3 foot high but this is screened by a dense laurel hedge in excess of 7 foot high, the branches of which tightly interweave over the fencing creating a barrier. You can therefore relax and let your dog(s) roam free in the garden. It is ideal for reactive dogs as although there is some, there isn’t a huge amount of passing traffic and dogs cannot see beyond the boundary fencing/hedge. A doggy welcome pack is also included in the welcome basket provision. There are no restrictions on where dogs are allowed but if guests want their dogs to have access to the bedrooms, I do respectfully ask that they bring their own bedding or throws to protect mine. 

There are 3 bedrooms with an en-suite attached to the master bedroom. There are televisions in the living area and in all 3 bedrooms. All but the upstairs bedroom have Freesat and all have DVD players (Blu-ray player in the living area). Two of the bedrooms can be arranged as either twins or doubles (Superking size) whilst the master bedroom features a handmade Kingsize log bed. The lodge has a fully equipped kitchen incorporating a built in oven and hob, an eye-level microwave, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer and dishwasher. The main bathroom has a bath with shower above and there is an additional walk-in shower in the en-suite. 

The ground floor, where all but one bedroom is located, is underfloor heated and tiled throughout so guests don't need to worry about muddy paw prints on carpet. There is also a log burner in the living area and there is free WiFi. 

Outside there is a 6 person hot tub, a gas BBQ and dining area and a covered area for bikes with bike racks.

Minimum stay is usually 3 nights but I can sometimes accommodate 2 night stays so please do ask. 
The lodge can also be rented without use of the hot tub for a discounted price and I will happily consider under occupancy discounts - if you would like a bespoke quote for either of these please call, email or message.

Several country parks & historic Abbeys, Go Ape, Adrenalin Jungle, Wheelgate Water and Theme Park, White Post Farm, Lockwell Hill Activity Centre, The Holocaust Centre and of course, the Major Oak at Sherwood Forest. Fishing and clay pigeon shooting is also available just a little further afield.
