DOG FRIENDLY SUBSCRIBERS ONLY.  Make a booking with us and use the discount code DogFriendly10 to get an exclusive 10% discount. Pop over to our website www.eastrustoncottages.co.uk to see what we have available!  And join our mailing list for exclusive extra discounts up to 15%.

From our seaside chalet, lodge and statics, through barn conversions, small and large, cottages in the countryside and by the sea and on to our big family houses and those right on the Norfolk Broads, we have something for everyone and for all your dogs too! Sleeping 2 to 10. All of them have properly enclosed outside areas, dogs are allowed on the sofas and all around the house, no silly rules, dog bowls provided, crates, stair gates, spare leads, beds, dog buggies and so much more… and a genuine welcome.

We don't charge for dogs EVER, many of our properties are happy with UNLIMITED (yes, unlimited!) dogs and the others are very happy with 4 and more! But please don't think they are 'dog-eared' - far from it, they are loved and looked after and many are home from home for their owners - some are properly luxurious, others are more basic but still very dog welcoming.

All our properties are in rural and coastal Norfolk, the quiet coastal bit between Cromer and Great Yarmouth, just on the edge of the Norfolk Broads too. Miles and miles of sandy beaches to run on all year round. Plenty of dog friendly pubs and cafes to visit. Take a boat out, with your dogs, on the wonderful Norfolk Broads.  We have a discount arrangement too with an electric boat hire company and our own ERC boat coming soon (2025).

You can come for a week or for a short break. Relax in our lovely houses or go out every day to explore the wonderful, dog friendly Norfolk coast and countryside. Always knowing that you and your dogs are very welcome.

And we're not a faceless agency - you will always get one of us - Sue or Georgie, to speak to or email. Both of us have lived here for many years, know all of the houses really well and the area too. I have 2 dogs of my own -   a little rescue boy, Ernie and crazy Border Terrier, Mabel!  Georgie has lovely big Great Dane, Polly and busy little Spaniel, Penny. I have holidayed all around the UK for years with my dogs and genuinely think that Norfolk is one of THE most dog friendly areas in the country. I hope you can come and find that out too!

We offer so much more to our guests…we can lend you crates if you need them - all sizes, plus high chairs, cots, sofa steps and stair gates if needed and a range of dog buggies - perfect for older dogs to join you on the lovely long Norfolk countryside walks!

All of our repeat guests get a choice of local vouchers to use when they are here too - we're big fans of supporting local businesses that we ourselves use.   Lots more information on our website here. https://www.eastrustoncottages.co.uk/support-local/.

Do you feed raw?  We have teamed up with the Raw Dog Food Company in Norwich (we use them ourselves) to give our guests free delivery to their holiday cottage and a minimum order of just £10.  They do a lot more than just raw food.  Take a look at our website for the order link.  https://www.rawdogfoodcompany.co.uk/east-ruston-cottages/

Just back from 5 night stay with ERC Sandmartins bungalow in Happisburgh 4 adults and 3 dogs. A really well equipped, clean and pleasant bungalow, even with an outdoor shower for the dogs sandy paws. The dogs were well catered for. Lots of local information supplied. Wonderful beaches and nice and quiet area. Welcome flowers and a superb home made cheescake - nice touch. Would highly recommend, great communication too. Will definately be back

We had an amazing week at Red Roofs on Hickling Broad.

Whilst the house can easily accommodate 8, we made use of the discount for smaller groups, which was perfect for our 2 humans, 2 big hounds family.

We often find that holiday homes are either great for the humans, or great for the dogs. Rarely do we find places which are perfect for all of us. But Red Roofs cracked it. When we arrive at other holiday cottages one of us usually takes the dogs for a walk whilst the other dog proofs the accommodation (inappropriate rugs up, delicate things hidden, our vet beds down). No need for any of that at Red Roofs, you can just settled right in straight away.

It is a stunning location and an amazing home. The huge back garden is fully secure so we could just leave the door open and let the dogs wander in and out. There is a dog entrance, complete with dog towels and a dog gate. The beautiful flower border has been fenced, so there was no need to worry about my big boy trampling the daffodils.

Dog crates, beds, towels and sofa coverings are provided, so you really can relax safe in the knowledge that this is a truly ‘dog friendly’ accommodation provider. The best way I can describe it is to say it’s like going to stay with your favourite dog-mad Aunt… beautiful home, Victoria sponge waiting for your arrival, big comfy furniture – with all the lovely ornaments up high just out of tail reach. Dog throws for every sofa and washable rugs covering the carpet so you can all truly relax and wooden dog gates in case you want to stop your four legged family members from accessing certain areas.

For the humans, Red Roofs is equally accommodating. The superking bed was super comfy. If I tell you there are 5 teapots to choose from, you’ll understand how well equipped the kitchen is. Logs and coal were available without additional cost, so we had a fire most evenings. Garden furniture meant breakfast on the patio. The bathroom has a shower and bath. The dining table would seat 8 easily and there are jigsaws in the cupboard (just as you would expect from your favourite Aunt!)

I’ve not even mentioned the location yet. It’s on Hickling Broad… Across the track from the property and you’re on the water. There are easy dog walks from the property and a dog-friendly pub serving great food a short stroll away at The Pleasureboat Inn. It’s just down the road from the Norfolk Wildlife Trust reserve, and we heard cranes bugling from the back garden.

We spent far longer than anticipated just relaxing at Red Roofs, playing with the dogs in the garden, playing board games on the kitchen table and reading by the fire. All in all, a brilliant week.

Thatched Cottage - Wowzers a chocolate box cottage it didn’t disappoint. There is everything you need & more a truly home from home dog friendly holiday let. Paul the owner checked in with is every day to see if we were ok & to make sure the hot tub levels were ok. The garden was great for the dogs to potter around in & anyone visiting in the next couple of months it with be full of colour, the magnolia tree is ready to burst & will be magnificent. The weather wasn’t great but it was a good excuse to watch all the action of the Winter Olympics games. The weather didn’t stop us using the hot tub & was the highlight of the day. Hoverton/Wroxham (Roy’s Town) has everything you need a great little supermarket. We visited the usual haunts of Cromer, Sherringham, Overstrand, Sea Palling, Scratby & Happisburgh.

We have stayed in lots of ERC properties all of which are great Thatched Cottage is in our top three & we will be back!
