East Ruston Cottages
**WINNER OF THE DOGFRIENDLY AWARDS COTTAGES & SELF CATERING CATEGORY for 2019 AND 2020*
Properly dog WELCOMING selection of properties in rural and coastal Norfolk run by Sue Allen. No charges for dogs ever and no limit in many of our cottages, sleeping from 2 to 12. Sue totally understand dogs and their owners holiday needs and all the owners genuinely love having dogs to stay!
From our seaside chalet, through barn conversions , small and large, cottages in the countryside and on to our huge seaside family houses, we have something for everyone and for all your dogs too! Sleeping 2 to 12. All of them have properly enclosed outside areas, dogs are allowed on the sofas, no silly rules, dog bowls provided, crates, stairgates and a genuine welcome provided.
We don't charge for dogs EVER, many of our properties are happy with UNLIMITED (yes, unlimited!) dogs and the others are very happy with 4 and more! But please don't think they are 'doggy' - far from it, they are loved and looked after and many are home from home for their owners.
All our properties are in rural and coastal Norfolk, the quiet coastal bit between Cromer and Winterton, just on the edge of the Norfolk Broads too. Lots and lots of sandy beaches to run on all year round. Plenty of dog friendly pubs and cafes to visit. Take a boat out, with your dogs, on the wonderful Norfolk Broads.
You can come for a week or for a short break. Relax in our lovely houses or go out every day to explore the wonderful, dog friendly Norfolk coast and countryside. Relax knowing that you and your dogs are very, very welcome.
And we're not a faceless agency - you will always get me, Sue Allen, to speak to or email. I have lived here for 30 years, know all of my houses really well and the area too. I have 2 dogs of my own. I have holidayed all around the UK with them and genuinely think that Norfolk is one of THE most dog friendly areas in the country. I hope you can come and found that out too!

Have just returned from Skylark chalet at the Winterton Valley Estate. Lovely comfortable chalet & well maintained throughout. Throws were provided so your dog could share the comfort of the sofa. My dog loved the fact he could lie on the sofa & watch people through the window in comfort. Lovely patio front & back with fixed windbreaks for the back patio to make it secluded. Stairgates to fit both front & back doors so the door could be open for fresh area without the dog escaping. Quiet site with lots of well maintained grassy areas. The area in front of the complex led onto the dunes but the grassy area itself was also good for off lead if the dogs are well behaved. Easy walk to Winterton village where my dog was able to join me at Poppy’s tearoom which he loved. The fact that we are still coming out of a pandemic was considered and comprehensive cleaning routine and covid protocols had been provided by the owners of the chalet and East Ruston Cottages. Definitely a place to visit again

It is the first time we have used East Ruston Cottages with our 2 dogs and it didn't disappoint!
We have stayed in accommodation that has allowed dogs many times, but there are always restrictions, like your dog is not allowed upstairs or on the furniture. Our dogs like to do both, so they were very much at home in Heather Cottage! Plenty of dog blankets and dog beds were provided as well as dog bowls, poo bags and some lovely locally made dog treats! Us humans were also very much catered for too with a lovely welcome pack of milk, eggs, juice and jam as well as toiletries for us all. The Cottage beautifully decorated and comfortable with a safe dog proof garden to relax in. We hope to return again next year!

We have just returned from a break at The Lodge in Stalham which was booked through East Rushton Cottages. It is the second time I have booked a break through them; VERY dog friendly accommodation, but genuinely dog friendly as opposed to those places that say they are but when you get there, the dog can't do this, the dog can't do that, keep the dog on a lead, don't let the dog go here, the garden isn't secure etc etc.
Their accommodation is truly finished with the pooch in mind. I have nothing but praise for the website and for Sue who administers it. She has responded promptly to every query I have presented. Excellent site and accommodation.
