From our seaside chalet, lodge and statics, through barn conversions, small and large, cottages in the countryside and by the sea and on to our big family houses and those right on the Norfolk Broads, we have something for everyone and for all your dogs too! Sleeping 2 to 10. All of them have properly enclosed outside areas, dogs are allowed on the sofas and all around the house, no silly rules, dog bowls provided, crates, stair gates, spare leads, beds, dog buggies and so much more… and a genuine welcome.
We don't charge for dogs EVER, many of our properties are happy with UNLIMITED (yes, unlimited!) dogs and the others are very happy with 4 and more! But please don't think they are 'dog-eared' - far from it, they are loved and looked after and many are home from home for their owners - some are properly luxurious, others are more basic but still very dog welcoming.
All our properties are in rural and coastal Norfolk, the quiet coastal bit between Cromer and Great Yarmouth, just on the edge of the Norfolk Broads too. Miles and miles of sandy beaches to run on all year round. Plenty of dog friendly pubs and cafes to visit. Take a boat out, with your dogs, on the wonderful Norfolk Broads. We have a discount arrangement too with an electric boat hire company and our own ERC boat coming soon (2025).
You can come for a week or for a short break. Relax in our lovely houses or go out every day to explore the wonderful, dog friendly Norfolk coast and countryside. Always knowing that you and your dogs are very welcome.
And we're not a faceless agency - you will always get one of us - Sue or Georgie, to speak to or email. Both of us have lived here for many years, know all of the houses really well and the area too. I have 2 dogs of my own - a little rescue boy, Ernie and crazy Border Terrier, Mabel! Georgie has lovely big Great Dane, Polly and busy little Spaniel, Penny. I have holidayed all around the UK for years with my dogs and genuinely think that Norfolk is one of THE most dog friendly areas in the country. I hope you can come and find that out too!
We offer so much more to our guests…we can lend you crates if you need them - all sizes, plus high chairs, cots, sofa steps and stair gates if needed and a range of dog buggies - perfect for older dogs to join you on the lovely long Norfolk countryside walks!
All of our repeat guests get a choice of local vouchers to use when they are here too - we're big fans of supporting local businesses that we ourselves use. Lots more information on our website here. https://www.eastrustoncottages.co.uk/support-local/.
Do you feed raw? We have teamed up with the Raw Dog Food Company in Norwich (we use them ourselves) to give our guests free delivery to their holiday cottage and a minimum order of just £10. They do a lot more than just raw food. Take a look at our website for the order link. https://www.rawdogfoodcompany.co.uk/east-ruston-cottages/

Just returned from a great week at Red Roofs. Massive garden that is safe for all dogs types. Large airy character house with very comfy beds & the biggest generous pack of human treats we have ever had which included a massive jam sponge cake that had the tastiest jam I’ve eaten.
Quiet walks along Hickling Broad from the door & our favourite pub for food The Greyhound sadly not serving when we were there but the Pleasure Boat Inn just as close. Very close to Stalham & easy quick drive to Sea Palling for dogs beach fix!
Weather was very kind all week with a gentle breeze rather than wind. Depressed dogs at home.
Always use ERC as all cottages are so dog friendly.

Thoroughly enjoyed our short break at The Lookout at Bacton. It was clean, very comfortable, totally dog friendly, very well equipped and on top of that a most glorious view! Local amenities and beach within walking distance or short car ride away so plenty of choice for eating out or excursions. Communication from the owner was excellent with great directions, easy to follow guides and information re the accommodation itself. Would definitely stay again. Booking was a breeze through ERC as usual, again with good communication from them as always.

We stay in dog friendly cottages 5 or 6 times a year in this country and can honestly say that we have never had such a wonderful cottage as Dormy from East Ruston Cottages. The cottage is extremely well equipped, spotlessly clean and everything provided that you could wish for. The goodie pack on arrival was just incredible, with everything for cooked breakfasts, dog treats bread, milk cheese and coffee and tea bags. A short walk over the hill/sea defences to the beach for wonderful walks with the dogs. Covers provided so the dogs can lie happily on the furniture as well.
We enjoyed it so much we have booked to come back next year but to another ERC cottage, as we have already booked our cottages for the next 9 months.
