The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary is based between Shanklin and Ventnor and is open every day weather permitting. Everyone is welcome visit the lovely donkeys including well behaved dogs. The charity relies entirely on donations and does not charge an entry fee. There is also a gift shop and café on site

Very well accommodated and they have a dog friendly menu too for our four legged family members.

Large grounds to explore, and lots of donks to see.
Dogs are allowed in the cafe and shop, which is a bonus

Dogs are clearly welcome here, especially by the donkeys, who wandered up to the paddock fences inquisitively to say hello. One paddock had some Shetland Ponies who were definitely interested in my Shetland Sheepdogs!
There is also a small wildflower meadow attached to the sanctuary which makes a nice stroll with the dogs too.
A particularly touching feature was the Rainbow Bridge flower bed and information board. Something I'm sure dog lovers can identify with.
