Surrounded by open countryside, it is the ideal area for walking and cycling, yet the popular seaside town of Scarborough is just a few minutes’ drive away. Warm and inviting, the property is tastefully furnished and has a lovely homely feel to it. The comfortable sitting room has a welcoming woodburning stove, perfect for cosy winter nights by the fire, while the modern, well-equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing tasty family meals, with a dining table to one end. Outside the cottage is an enclosed lawned garden, where you can sit and relax with a morning coffee, before heading off for the day’s adventures. The immediate surrounding countryside is a walkers and cyclists’ paradise, with an abundance of footpaths and quiet lanes to enjoy, while nearby is Dalby Forest, with its mountain bike trails and Go Ape Adventure Park. Just ten miles away is the traditional resort of Scarborough, with two lovely sandy bays joined by a long promenade and overlooked by the castle ruins on the cliff top. There are cafes, tea rooms and fine restaurants to try, gardens and parks to explore and museums and galleries to visit. Whether it's building sandcastles on the beach, donkey rides, candy floss, or tasting fish and chips in the invigorating sea air, Scarborough has it all! The open-air theatre hosts many well-known bands, whilst the renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre is well worth visiting. There are many historic market towns in the vicinity of this cottage, including Pickering, with its steam railway and castle, as well as Kirbymoorside, Malton and Helmsley, all with regular market days to enjoy.
