Kirby Malzeard is the nearest village about 11/2 miles away where there is a popular pub, butchers and small general store for essentials and newspapers. Masham is 3 miles away boasting 2 breweries, Theakstons and Black Sheep , both do brewery tours , there are 4 pubs a few shops and a popular fish and chip shop as well as a small market on Wednesdays and Saturday. Alternatively, the cathedral city of Ripon is 6 miles away with the walled city of York great for a day trip to enjoy. The cottage is near the beautiful Himalayan gardens and sculpture park , take a walk around enjoying the beautiful flowers from some of the most exotic places on earth, with the gardens being only open certain times of the year.
