"...Our stay at Monastery Barn was truly wonderful. It's a beautiful, comfortable & welcoming home that slept six of us perfectly. In fact entering the bedrooms felt like entering a treaty hotel room (especially with the added bonus of sparkling water & Ferrero Rocher). We had a fantastic time cooking up lovely meals in the well equipped kitchen, playing cards in the light-drenched, plant filled main room, sleeping deeply, having relaxing soaks in the spacious baths & going for walks in the beautiful surrounding countryside. The extensive suggestions for what to do in the local area in the handy Barn folder were fantastic too and we were spoiled for choice. "...Monastery Barn , well what can I say. It would be easier to list the faults with this place, because, there are none ! Being away from home is always hard for work but turning up at this accommodation and finding this amazing house makes it a home from home. Especially with the wonderful and kind owners Alastair & Patricia who want to make your stay here all the more special and will happily get to know you or let you enjoy the solace and tranquil area that is Shutford & its environs. The house itself has everything you could wish for from a lovely kitchen to cook in to a snug to cuddle up to your loved ones with and while away the evenings with a glass or two of wine. The only thing I could have wished for was to have my working days cancelled so I could have enjoyed my time here more but rest assured I will be bringing my loved ones back to this jewel of a house in the tucked away village that is Shutford..." "...We stayed in this lovely, homely and comfortable barn for a weekend, joined by our three sons & their girlfriends. We were met with a very warm welcome. The location is ideal for touring the Cotswolds. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Hook Norton Brewery (especially with Monty, the guide) and to Daylesford organic farm where a harvest festival was in full flow. Such fun! Diddly Squat was a W.o.t so not recommended. The Castle at Edgehill was excellent for dinner. All of this was helped along by suggestions from Patricia & Alastair. Very friendly hosts, great communication and we would recommend a stay..."

"...Fantastic House & Area - From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. Patricia and Alistair were such lovely people. The house was just as described and very comfortable to be in. There was an information pack in the house that detailed anything that you could think of, with places to visit, nice walks, Restaurants, Pubs etc. Our dogs loved the garden which was enclosed so we could leave them outside and not worry about them getting out. They loved the toys that were there for them to play with. The area was very good for sightseeing around the Cotswolds. Lots of lovely walks and the local pub was only a five minute walk. We arrived as strangers and left as friends. We would recommend this house to anyone and we will definitely be back. Thank you Patricia and Alastair for your kind hospitality..." "...First of all, the hosts, Patricia and Alastair, were brilliant! They made everything possible to make our stay perfect, from buying a brand new bbq to patching a inflatable pool we brought along for the kids. The house is great, the garden is beautiful and being fully closed was very helpful as we could leave our kids and dog free to play together. Wifi internet was very good, which helped me do some home-office work. Every detail in the house was prepared with care and to a great standard. We did some bike rides around the area and the landscape was beautiful. There is a sweet playground just across the street that the kids loved to go to and play. We will certainly go back! Thank you!..." Leo and Flavia July 2020

We enjoyed our time there, had an excellent dinner at the local pub right down the road and were within short drives of multiple things to do - Warwick castle, Roll right and Banbury. "...Upon arrival we were made to feel so welcome by Patricia. She showed us around her beautiful home told us to use whatever we needed. The house is beautiful and very clean. We had a wonderful weekend and nothing was too much trouble. We had some severe weather on the Sunday and as they had no guests arriving they invited us to stay longer as they wanted us to be safe. The village is lovely as well. Would definitely recommend . You will be made to feel so welcome. We hope to return in the not too distant future ..." Wendy, February 2020

"...The owners were very friendly and helpful. Monastery Barn was well presented with nice little touches such as Ferrero Rocher and bottles of water in every bedroom..." Louise, January 2020

"...What an amazing place and pair of hosts! Booked the Barn at short notice for an impromptu friends' get together over a Sat & Sun night in Jan. Patricia & Alastair were super helpful and accommodating with lots of tips and flexibility. The place is better than the photos with buckets of charm and space for our group of 7 friends. It was perfect for our meet up... dining around the large table, playing games in the lounge in front of the fire, and even dancing to some tunes in the conservatory! Lots to do around the area - we chose a village walk (thanks for the map), a trip to Upton House and brunch at New Amsterdam (pancake house) in Banbury. Warm, cosy, divine beds and a fantastic rain shower. Lots of provisions and elegantly decorated. Thank you - simply best experience yet!..." Rose Marie, January 2020
