“...Absolutely amazing stay!! We had the best weekend! Alastair & Patricia were the most helpful, welcoming & generous hosts. They did everything they possibly could to make it the best stay for us! They always responded quickly to all messages & made it a delight to stay at the house! The house itself is beautiful, very clean & comfortable & has everything you need. “...Six of us stayed at Monastery Barn over the weekend for a family wedding & the accommodation was perfect for us all. Patricia welcomed us on our arrival, showing us around & assuring us of her help should we need it. A table set for dinner & a complimentary drinks tray was most welcome after a long day travelling. It was really kind of Patricia & Alastair to offer us a later checkout which meant we could have a more leisurely morning after the previous late night. We enjoyed a relaxed coffee sitting in the gorgeous conservatory & were bid a warm farewell from these lovely & welcoming hosts...”

Loads of recommendations given by Alastair & Patricia (everything we did while there was at their recommendation & we loved it all!). They were there to greet us on arrival & were so friendly. There was a problem with the oven while we were there but they were only too happy to help us. Loads of lovely little extras, like the table laid beautifully, the welcome drinks, milk & chocolates. I just LOVED relaxing in the orangery with a book & a cup of tea. The area itself is a lovely little village with beautiful surroundings. Such great price for such lovely accommodation. Hopefully we will have a reason to come back a third time!..."

We hosted my husbands 60th birthday gathering here & had an amazing time, the space was perfect & the amenities helped make our stay comfortable. The bedrooms were luxurious & beds soft & enveloping. "...We travelled as 2 couples plus 2 well-behaved dogs & thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Monastery Barn. The house is homely & comfortable & the lovely garden has plenty of seating for relaxing outside with a welcome drink from the ‘drinks tray’. The garden is secure for dogs to wander around, so no worries if they’re slightly nervous being

in new surroundings. The house is set in a picturesque village & is in a great location to explore the Cotswolds. Bourton-on-the-water, Stow-on-the-Wold & Lower Slaughter were very quaint places to visit & there were plenty of leaflets & maps with suggestions

of things to do. The extra touches such as the water & chocolates in the bedroom, the drinks tray, ice creams in the freezer & beers in the fridge, just makes this place extra special. Alastair & Patricia were really friendly & very helpful offering advice where to walk the dogs & where to eat out. Nothing was too much for them & we would all totally recommend staying here..."

They were beyond helpful & always quick to respond. As we arrived at the property they were very welcoming & I have to say their generosity is exceptional. As well as the usual welcome pack items e.g. tea & coffee, they had left beers in the fridge & offered a wide range of refreshments, even home grown tomatoes! The property is set in a beautiful quiet village but with easy access to lots of lovely places to visit. It is so well equipped & comfortable. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. We were a family group of 5 adults, 2 dogs & 1 baby & found the house & garden excellent for socialising as a group as well as there being ample space for the family to spread out. Patricia & Alistair are generous hosts . As soon as we were unpacked, we could get straight onto our birthday celebrations with the help of the luxuries left by our hosts. We were most grateful that they had purchased a mat for the bath for our baby granddaughter which they also insisted that we take home with us. The village is lovely with a nearby playground & dog walks within minutes from the house. As Patricia & Alistair didn't have guests arriving on the day of our check out, they very kindly delayed our check out for a couple of hours. We look forward to a return visit...”

The Barn is warm and cosy even on chilly February mornings, it is beautiful, extremely well equipped and comfortable. The hosts have plenty of suggestions for dog friendly attractions and activities in the area, and even have their own dog. The village is small and friendly, with a pub and a church. "...We stayed in this lovely, homely and comfortable barn for a weekend, joined by our three sons & their girlfriends. We were met with a very warm welcome. The location is ideal for touring the Cotswolds. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Hook Norton Brewery (especially with Monty, the guide) and to Daylesford organic farm where a harvest festival was in full flow. Such fun! Diddly Squat was a W.o.t so not recommended. The Castle at Edgehill was excellent for dinner. All of this was helped along by suggestions from Patricia & Alastair. Very friendly hosts, great communication and we would recommend a stay..."

Being away from home is always hard for work but turning up at this accommodation and finding this amazing house makes it a home from home. Especially with the wonderful and kind owners Alastair & Patricia who want to make your stay here all the more special and will happily get to know you or let you enjoy the solace and tranquil area that is Shutford & its environs. The house itself has everything you could wish for from a lovely kitchen to cook in to a snug to cuddle up to your loved ones with and while away the evenings with a glass or two of wine. The only thing I could have wished for was to have my working days cancelled so I could have enjoyed my time here more but rest assured I will be bringing my loved ones back to this jewel of a house in the tucked away village that is Shutford..."

"...Fantastic House & Area - From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. Patricia and Alistair were such lovely people. The house was just as described and very comfortable to be in. There was an information pack in the house that detailed anything that you could think of, with places to visit, nice walks, Restaurants, Pubs etc. Our dogs loved the garden which was enclosed so we could leave them outside and not worry about them getting out. They loved the toys that were there for them to play with. The area was very good for sightseeing around the Cotswolds. Lots of lovely walks and the local pub was only a five minute walk. "...We have just spent a week at the Monastery Barn it was the most relaxing week. Having said that we did lots of lovely dog walks straight from the door and visited some National Trust houses. The Barn is fabulously equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. The fully enclosed quiet garden for my dogs was idyllic. The hosts were amazing, lovely knowledgeable people and so helpful! I cannot recommend Monastery Barn and Alastair and Patricia highly enough! If you want a peaceful holiday with Stratford and Oxford on your doorstep then this is definitely the place! You and your dogs will feel completely at home and never want to leave! ..."

.. This is a fabulous cottage in a small, beautiful Cotswold village. The house was beautiful and very well equipped and the garden was fantastic. The owners gave us a very warm welcome including some welcome drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). They are very dog friendly and the house has a large downstairs area with a tiled floor so good even in muddy weather. The garden is properly secure for the dogs and ours had a fabulous time exploring and playing in it. There is an outside tap for paw rinsing and a dog towel was provided. There is off road parking and good dog walking from the house as well as being in close driving range of many more walks and great places to visit. We would highly recommend Monastery Barn for your holiday..."
