The village of Salem has a pub with a warm and cosy atmosphere with fires, a good choice of real ales and home-cooked food. The historic town of Llandeilo is less than 3 miles away, picturesquely sited on a hill above the River Tywi. Known for its boutique shops, a great choice of deli’s and eateries and regular festivals of music and creativity, Llandeilo also has a wealth of heritage attractions in the area like National Trust owned Dinefwr Park (with spectacular walks around the 800-acre estate and an 18th-century manor house to explore) as well as Carreg Cennen and Dryslwyn Castles. From here the Brecon Beacons National Park, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is within easy reach but the whole area abounds with fantastic walks and is a natural playground for ramblers, birdwatchers and mountain bikers. Ty Cosy is just 20-minute drive from the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, with the biggest single-span glasshouse in the world (housing the largest collection of Mediterranean plants in the Northern Hemisphere), attractive walled gardens and butterfly house, while historic Aberglasney gardens are just 10 minutes away, with regular tours, exhibitions, outdoor music and theatre. Together with the popular Gwili Steam Railway, Dolaucothi Gold Mines and the glorious beaches of Carmarthenshire - Ty Cosy is the ideal spot from which to explore this beautiful area. Beach 33 miles. Shop 2¾ miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
