This mid-terrace cottage rests in an elevated position in the village of Penrhyndeudraeth, just outside the stunning Snowdonia National Park. Ty Bychan has been tastefully furnished to provide an inviting holiday cottage, perfect for couples or a small family wanting to discover this fascinating part of Wales. With far-reaching rural views, you can delight in the open-plan living area, boasting a rustic yet contemporary feel. The red brick breakfast bar adds character to the room, with a well-equipped kitchen to follow, and a sitting area with a woodburning stove for those cosy nights on the sofa. Wake up to a lovely view of the mountains from both the master double bedroom and the single bedroom which is perfect for a child. Outside is a small seating area where you can enjoy your morning coffee whilst thinking about how to spend the day. Penrhyn Station is directly behind the cottage, with a walkway right next to parking bay that takes you straight to it, from this station you will be able to take the steam train straight to Blaenau Ffestiniog or Porthmadog, to travel further afield jump on the Welsh Highland Railway to visit the historic town of Caernarfon. At the bottom of the village is the Cambrian line which runs from Shrewsbury all the way to Pwllheli. With bus links also in a close proximity, once you have parked your car at the cottage, you wont need to use it again until it is time to head home! Explore the village of Portmeirion, which holds plenty of events throughout the year such as food fairs , markets, and its annual prisoner convention, whether you want to walk around the village, the grounds or the Estuary, you are bound to have a great day out with the family. Why not spend an afternoon on one of the nearby sandy beaches at Black Rock Sands Beach or Porthmadog, or head to the stunning Nature Reserve of Gwaith Powdwr for all manner of outdoor activities? Porthmadog is also home to the Maritime Museum which offers an insight into the history of the town, plus a wealth of restaurants, pubs and cafés to try. If you’re feeling adventurous, nearby is the fantastic Zip World and Bounce Below, where you can get of your adrenaline fix on exciting zip lines or within the underground trampoline park in a disused slate mine! A great base for uncovering all the delights of the Welsh coast.
