The Stopping Point

This beautifully presented, 19th century, former workman's cottage is tucked away in the village of Flookburgh, on the fringes of the Lake District. It is the perfect opportunity for the family to explore Morecambe Bay and the coastline that stretches along the Cartmel Peninsula. The front door takes you into the hallway and into the sitting room on the left. This cosy and inviting space is uplifted by warm colour schemes, where you can gather around the woodburner and enjoy the company of your loved ones. The kitchen comprises a dining area for scrumptious feasts and after dinner board games with a contemporary décor brightening up your mood. A split-level staircase takes you to the family bathroom, which is modern in design and boasts lovely views over the rooftops towards the countryside. Up the second set of steps is the single room with a pull-out trundle bed for the little ones to share. The double room at the front of the property is styled with a beautiful king-size bed, bedside tables and lamps, a wardrobe and views across the road to the fields beyond. There is a lovely English garden at the front of the property offering a lawned area bordered by green shrubs and plants. And at the rear is a yard with secure storage for bikes, should you wish to bring them along for a cycling trip. The village has plenty of local amenities, once a popular spot for travellers crossing the sands from Lancaster. Ramblers can enjoy walks along the Cumbrian Coastal Way and Coniston's mountain range. Close by is the enchanting village of Cartmel and you also have the towns of Ulveston, Windermere and Ambleside easily reached by car, with plenty to entertain the whole family. Take a boat trip on lake Windermere and take the kids to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness. This is the ideal getaway for a much needed break.
