The Old Farmhouse - UKC3569

There is so much to see and picturesque towns and villages to visit or simply relax in luxury in The Old Farmhouse.. This wonderful development of four old stone barns, renovated in 2018 to a very high standard, are located around a courtyard, close to the owner’s house. Situated on a working sheep farm, located at the top of Sheldon village, just 3 miles from the historic market town of Bakewell. There are outstanding views on 360 degrees of Curber Edge, Monsal Head and Chatsworth Hunting Tower.

The Cow Shed (ref UKC3567) is a cosy, 2 bedroom barn, dog friendly, conversion with an open plan living space. Large glazed panels flood the main living area with light and patio doors lead to a sheltered seating area. A wood burner in the living room and natural stone floors with with underfloor heating allow for cosy nights in the cottage. Both bedrooms offer feature stone walls and wood-panelled en-suite bathrooms.

For large groups or family gatherings The Hayloft (ref UKC3568) is the ideal place with a large open plan space. The stunning double-sided wood burner, along with a large kitchen island, will encourage the TV to remain off and for you to spend quality time together. The kitchen is very well equipped with 2 dishwashers, 2 fridges and a Belfast sink. A large dining table and seating for 12 is behind the patio doors leading to a private outdoor seating area. The property has 6 large bedrooms which can be prepared for you as either twin or double rooms to suit your group. Two bedrooms with feature stone walls and exposed beams can be found on the ground floor. On the first floor, a large spacious landing leads to a further 4 bedrooms all with stunning uninterrupted views across the open countryside. High ceilings with exposed beams and original stone walls, make this a special property.

The original Manor Farmhouse, now named The Old Farmhouse (ref UKC3569), dates back to 1750 and is ideal for a family or small group of up to 4 people and their four-legged friend. This property can be prepared as a double and twin bedroom, or as 2 twin bedrooms if required; each with their own en-suite, wood panelled shower room. The Old Farmhouse’s open plan living space focuses around an original stone hearth, dating back to the same period and incorporating a wood burner. The living area is flooded with light from the large patio doors which leads to a private patio area. An oak staircase leads to the first floor offering a variety of beautiful views from each bedroom, and in particular, the double room has wonderful views of Magpie Mine. These stunning views may also allow you to see some of the wonderful sunsets, which can be particularly spectacular in the winter months as the red glow shines through the silhouette of trees in the woodland.

The Milking Parlour (UKC3570) is a luxury retreat ideal for couples. Exposed beams and a double-sided wood burner between the living room and bedroom, make it a place for special memories to be created. Exposed stone walls and beams can be found throughout, and patio doors lead to a very private garden with uninterrupted views of the valley. The kitchen and living room are open plan with natural stone floors which have underfloor heating. A kingsize bedroom leads to a wood-panelled bathroom with a roll-top bath, separate shower cubicle and heated towel rail set against an exposed stone wall.

Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are just a 10-minute drive away and you can walk straight from your door down to Deepdale or the popular village of Ashford in the Water.
Bike storage is available for cyclists as well as tools, bike pump and washing facilities. A separate games room has activities to keep you entertained and incorporates a laundry and drying room. The village pub serves traditional food and is just a 5-minute walk. Guests can visit the small woodland, enjoy fresh eggs and watch the magnificent sunsets.

Nestled in the heart of the Peak District National Park, walkers will enjoy exploring the contrasting scenery of the higher and wilder Dark Peak in the north, and the gently rolling limestone dales of White Peak in the south. The area is well known for its outstanding beauty in places such as Monsal Head, Manifold Valley, Dovedale and Edale. Always a favourite with visitors is the famous Haddon Hall, Bolsover Castle, Alton Towers, Gulliver’s Kingdom and Poole’s Cavern.
