The Mill

Experience - The Area...

Just 6 miles from the picturesque fishing villages at Looe and Polperro on the South Coast, this stone-built spacious and comfortable cottage forms part of a converted 19th century former mill and benefits from double glazing and a biomass boiler for central heating and hot water.

On a working family farm set to one side of the original farmhouse with 180 acres of beautiful rural countryside including a 10-acre woodland noted for its birds and wildlife that links with footpaths leading down to the West Looe Valley.  The Mill has their own gated patio garden in addition to a separate shared lawn and there is ample parking space on-site. 

Lanreath, 1/2 a mile, has a 15th century church and small village store/P.O. and the village of Pelynt 1.5 miles is home to the 400 year old Jubilee Inn and a few local shops. Fowey via the Bodinnick car ferry, Polruan and Lerryn are all within a 15 minute drive and both the Eden Project and the NT Lanhydrock House can be reached in half an hour by car.

Stay - The Accommodation...

Approached from a walled and gated garden with a crazy paved patio, one step and a level path leads up to the wide front door which opens to a hallway with an adjacent fully fitted country style kitchen/dining room with French Windows leading out to a small rear terrace.

The large sitting room is pleasantly furnished with comfortable seating arranged before the Cornish stone fireplace and patio doors opening to the enclosed front garden. The property is efficently heated via Biomass energy.

To complete the ground floor accommodation there is a bedroom with Super king 6ft bed which can be made into two 3ft single beds, and a walk-in wet room W.C. with hand basin and fold down seat in the shower area, suitable for an elderly or infirm member of the family.

25% discount for couples wishing to book this property out of season; the ground floor bedroom and wetroom will be made making it an ideal option.

Upstairs are three further bedrooms in a light crisp decor with rural views; a spacious master bedroom with a 6ft double and en-suite shower room W.C. and basin, a twin bedroom with en-suite shower room W.C. and basin, and a double bedroom retaining part of the original mill wheel with an en-suite bathroom W.C. with hand basin, bath and shower cubicle.

A door from the first floor landing opens to external railed steps that lead down to the front of the property.

- Pets and young children will require supervision on this working farm where agricultural/commercial vehicles operate

- Mobile shower chair and a portable ramp to assist access over steps are available on request
