The Chestnuts

Spacious three bedroom barn conversion on the edge of Galmpton, a picture postcard village with shop and a pub. This is a delightful ‘away from it all’ spot close to Greenways, the former family home of Agatha Christie.

Chestnuts is a delightful property in a courtyard setting, light, spacious and very comfortably furnished with large sofas and delightful bedrooms. The cottage sits on the corner of a number of converted barns and benefits from extensive lawned garden to the rear and a patio area with table and chairs. The garden is a fabulous feature with views over the surrounding countryside…  a lovely place to relax and escape the rat race.

If you're planning a holiday in South Devon with the family and the dogs this is the perfect choice – with some beautiful walks on the doorstep you're sure to have tired hounds (and guests) by the end of the day!


Living room: Two plush sofas, large flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD player and coffee table. The doors in the living room lead onto the communal front courtyard and also rear doors that lead to the conservatory. Wi-fi is also available.

Kitchen: Very well equipped with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. Kitchen leads onto the conservatory.

Conservatory: Dining table and chairs, 3 seater leather sofa. Doors onto the rear gardens.

Bedrooms: Master bedroom: King size bed, two bedside cabinets, bedside lamps, dressing table, full length mirror. Ensuite with a shower, wash handbasin and W.C.

Bedroom 2: Super king bed (zip and link, please advise at time of booking if you wish to have single bed configuration).

Bedroom 3: 3ft bunk beds.

Bathrooms: Family bathroom: Bath with a wall mounted shower, W.C. and wash handbasin. Cloakroom: W.C. and wash handbasin. Master bedroom has an ensuite with shower, wash handbasin and W.C.

Outside: The Chestnuts has a wonderful large rear garden which is fully furnished to cater for a full family barbecue.

Parking: Parking for two cars is available. (Campers/Caravans/Boats and Cars over 8 Seats not permitted)

Facilities and services: WiFi connection available, large garden. Bed linen provided. Towels can be provided, please request at time of bookings. (Beach towels not provided.) Ground floor bedroom/shower room.  Arr/Dep. For weekly bookings is Saturday. Short breaks available in low and mid season. Pub 0.5 miles. Shop 0.5 miles. Coast 1 mile. Parking. Will accept 3 pets.

Security deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £250, which is payable to Marsdens Devon Cottages with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.
