Llanrug 2 miles. A lovely homely detached stone cottage located in the pretty semi-rural hamlet of Penisa’r Waun just two miles from Llanrug and just four miles from Llanberis and Caernarfon, close to the Snowdonia National Park. The central location makes this cottage a great choice and provides a great base for exploring the area. This wonderful cottage is ideal for couples, friends or a family wishing to spend time together and provides a relaxing base for a short break or longer. The whole cottage oozes charm and character with a rustic French shabby chic feel with touches of industrial, traditional and vintage styling, the soft palette of grey tones and whites creates a soothing ambience throughout. With not just one but two impressive stone inglenook fireplaces, each housing a warming woodburning stove you’ll be toasty warm here. The cottage is so welcoming and as you enter, into the dining room you’ll not be disappointed. Well-laid out with two fireside chairs and a dining area, it provides a great place not only to dine but to relax, warming your toes while you finish that book. Slate floors throughout extend into the sitting room which is comfy and homely, a lovely room for all the family where you can all unwind and relax after a busy day out and about walking on the mountains, watching your favourite movie together or chatting long into the evening. The kitchen has a wonderful whitewashed exposed stone accent wall and is well-equipped and caters for all your needs with a cosy breakfast area and the door leading to an outside seating area where you can catch the morning sun and enjoy an early morning cup of coffee. Two bedrooms upstairs, both well-appointed and enjoying views to distant mountain scenery and a family bathroom complete this delightful holiday cottage. Outside is a rear seating area extending to the parking, and at the front enclosed with some wonderful dry stone walling, is a courtyard area of crushed slate with furniture, perfect for catching the last of the day’s sunshine, taking in the views and enjoying a glass of something cold. The village of Llanrug is just two miles away and offers all you could hope for, with two excellent pubs, a general store and Post Office, as well as an award-winning butchers and renowned fish and chip shop. A pay-and-play 9-hole golf course is available a short drive away, or enjoy one of the surrounding 18-hole courses in Bangor, or nearby town of Caernarfon, also home to a World Heritage castle, which is well worth a visit. Llanberis is just four miles away, visit Electric Mountain, take the narrow gauge steam train that runs the length of Llyn Padarn, plus there are numerous watersports on the lake, as well as it being one of the main starting points for hiking up to the summit of Snowdon. The best way to see some of the surrounding countryside is from the saddle!
