Regular buses stop nearby where a trip to Newcastle, with its vibrant quayside, Baltic Centre and fine architecture, can be enjoyed. Alnwick Castle, famous for Harry Potter and Downton Abbey scenes, is only 24 miles where you can spend a few hours exploring the castle, gardens and cobbled streets. Hadrian’s Wall is easily accessible in under an hour where you can explore Roman forts or look at the famous tree in Sycamore Gap used in the opening scenes of the ’Robin Hood Prince of Thieves’ film. Beach 50 yards. Shop and pub 100 yards, restaurant 300 yards.
