This is a deceptively spacious modern cottage in a quiet residential area near woodland, in the popular seaside resort of Ilfracombe. With far-reaching views towards the Bristol Channel, this delightful cottage feels light and is beautifully presented with an open plan living room with a bay window where guests can relax in front of the view. There are deep sofas, a dining area and a well-fitted kitchen making a sociable area to spend time with friends. Upstairs are three bedrooms sleeping five, one with distant sea views, and they share a bathroom. On the lower ground floor, reached by external steps, is a useful large unheated room with a storage area for bikes and surfboards, plus a washing machine and tumble dryer. On the same level there is a large enclosed patio with furniture and a sunny aspect for relaxing or eating alfresco. Steps lead up to the living area and a gate leads out to the driveway. From the cottage, it is a mile down to Ilfracombe harbour which has three restaurants listed in the Michelin Guide 2017, pubs and shops. Ilfracombe has so much to offer, including the well-known Tunnels Beaches, reached through hand carved cliffs, leading to sheltered beaches and tidal Victorian bathing pools. There is a children’s soft play area, adults-only lounge and a popular café. Why not visit the aquarium, take a boat trip to Lundy Island, or take a short drive to the long sandy beaches that North Devon is renowned for, such as Saunton Sands or Woolacombe? This welcoming cottage is close to many attractions with local beaches, swimming pool, pub and famous Chambercombe Manor with its tea rooms and gardens just twenty minutes walk from the property.
