Accommodation Comprises: Redmire Barn dates from the early 1700s. It was built to last, with thick stone walls and solid oak beams that have stood the test of time. Contemporary comforts include USB charging points, WiFi, underfloor heating in the kitchen and efficient central heating. Downstairs: Open plan living/dining room with an armchair and a plush three-four seater sofa that is perfect for a sneaky snooze. There's a log burner for winter and a Smart TV for lazy film nights. The rustic wood dining table next to French doors opens onto the private terrace. The antique storage chest stores an abundance of family games for this wet & blustery days. There's an antique bar-billiards table as well. You'll find everything you need for self-catering in the well-equipped kitchen, including a thoughtful welcome pack, a De Longhi coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs: Both bedrooms are on the first floor. Each room is a spacious double with zip-link kingsize beds that can be separated into two single beds if preferred. Please let the owner know your required layout when booking. Each ensuite has a shower, WC and a handbasin. As with the kitchen, their contemporary style is a fitting contrast to the barn's age and the oak beams in the bedrooms. (Please note dogs are not allowed upstairs in the bedrooms). Outside: The barn has a private terrace with a barbecue, garden furniture and a fire pit. The private south facing river-bank garden is the perfect spot to create memories and set up a game of croquet or archery with family or friends. At night, light the larger ‘river-side’ fire pit and stargaze for hours under skies full of brilliant stars. The owners live next door and keep free-range chickens. You may hear them clucking in the garden as you laze on sun loungers on the lawn. There is secure bike storage and off-street parking. The terraced area are enclosed which provides a wonderfully relaxing place to BBQ whilst allowing your pooches to basque in the sun. Please bear in mind if bringing dogs as they would need to be on a lead outside of this area. There is ample space in and around Hawkswick & beyond for exercising dogs, in Kids; A high chair, fireguard, extra large bed guard, two stair gates and travel cot available (please speak to the owners about bedding for the travel cot as they ask guests to provide their own for infants 6 months and under for health and safety reasons). Utilities; WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all included. (One bath towel/ hand towel p/p) Additional Information: Dogs; we now accept a maximum of 2 small/ medium well behaved dogs at a cost of £20 per dog/ per stay. We do have a fenced in/enclosed terraced space which leads straight out from the French doors.
