At Puddleduck Valley we love dogs. We have two pooches of our own and we love it when our guests bring their dogs too.
We have two holiday cottages and an apartment that are all dog friendly. We've designed our accommodation to make life easy when travelling with dogs. They have easy wipe floors, dog bowls, dog towels and even an outside bath with warm shower, perfect for rinsing off sand, mud, and salty coats before heading inside. All our accommodation have their own private secure gardens perfect for holidaying with your dogs.

We’re also creating a cosy dog drying room, complete with a powerful dog safe hairdryer and towels. It’s designed to make post walk clean ups quick, easy, and completely stress free — for both you and your four legged friend. We hope to have this ready for March 2026.

We know dogs are part of the family, and they’re warmly welcomed at Puddleduck Valley. With peaceful countryside, private, enclosed gardens and miles of countryside & woodland walks from your doorstep, it’s the perfect place for a relaxed break with your for legged friend. 

A Holiday Your Dog Will Love  

Our Appleloft Suite is a stunning dog friendly one bedroom apartment, suitable for sleeping up to a family of four. Set in the 1650s farmhouse complete with oak beams and has a fully equipped kitchen. The suite has fantastic views out over the wooded valley, the gardens and meadows. The bedroom is huge with a ziplock super king bed splits into two standard single beds plus two extra two single beds. The hotel style bathroom has a large shower (no bath). It has it's own private, secure garden with picnic table, outdoor seating and bbq.

Buttermilk cottage has a master bedroom with super king size bed that also splits into two standard single beds. The upstairs bedroom is perfect for children. A mezzanine room, the ceiling is low but acts as a den for kids. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, hotel style bathroom and even its own porch to keep your boots dry. Buttermilk also features a fully enclosed lawned garden with over hanging trees and a woodfired hot tub. The French doors of the lounge open onto the BBQ terrace with brick BBQ, picnic table and fantastic views across the wooded valley. This cottage also has it's own private secure garden suitable for dogs.

Stables cottage has two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed opening to the en-suite hotel style bathroom. The second room has bunk beds. The fully equipped kitchen has every utensil you could hope for. The lounge and dining area has windows overlooking the enclosed garden and woodland with BBQ and picnic bench and woodfired hot tub. This cottage also has it's own private secure garden suitable for dogs.

We have 8 acres of woodland and meadows on site, If your dog is well behaved off the lead, you’re welcome to let them explore outside your private garden under supervision. We have more than 200 acres at National Trust Dunsland & the Forestry Commission woodland right next door which is great for off lead walking.
The Bickford Arms pub is around a mile from us and is also dog friendly, serving food and drink most of the day. You can walk to the pub through our wood and into Dunsland straight to the pub with only a short walk on the road.

We are in the process of fencing our own ½ acre sloped sunny meadow as a secure dog exercise field. We hope to have it ready for guests to use by March 2026. It’s a beautiful location with stunning views and a lovely sunny slope.

Free Dog Stays for Grown‑Up Getaways

All our accommodations can host up to two small dogs or one large dog.

When travelling without children, you can bring your dogs at no extra cost.

If your booking includes children, a fee of £25 per dog applies.

Dog Sitting Service

If you’d like to explore somewhere that isn’t dog friendly, we offer onsite dog sitting. Your dog can relax in the comfort of your cottage while we keep them company, ensuring they feel safe, calm, and cared for and take them out for a short walk.
