Penny Black Cottage

Penny Black is a 200 year old character cottage with a pretty, enclosed country garden, private off road parking, a wood burning stove, a king size bed, free wifi, period style bathroom with shower and she is dog friendly (up to 2 dogs free of charge - with considerate owners) She is situated between Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales and Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria. Penny Black accommodates two people and is an ideal base for an energetic activity trip such as walking, climbing, caving, riding, cycling, or a romantic setting if you just wish to relax and enjoy - or both! Parking - There is an off road parking space at the end of the terrace which is large enough for two vehicles - this is solely for your use. The Garden - A pretty, south facing, fully enclosed (3ft high fences and dry stone walls) garden which is accessed through a gate across the cobbled path in front of Penny's door. There are two seating areas, iron chairs and table (cushions are stored in the monks bench in the lounge) and a lockable cycle shed. There are wonderful countryside views from the end of the garden. The Lounge - A character room with a beamed full height ceiling and large inglenook fire place housing a cosy log burner. A large squishy leather sofa (not just any sofa...) with pouffe, a comfy rocking chair, for fireside naps! Warm country pine furniture to compliment the style of the cottage. There are also books, games and jigsaws to bring you back to blissful old fashioned basics! There is a Smart TV and radio/DVD player to keep you grooving! The Kitchen - Fully equipped with the tools you need to create a gastronomic delight (if you choose to have a night off from experiencing the local eateries) Mini electric range cooker, full size microwave and low level fridge with ice compartment. Toaster, kettle and cafetiere as well as all the crockery and cutlery you need. The Bathroom - An Edwardian styled bathroom with regal height toilet and basin (a little higher than normal to help those with back and neck issues - you can tell the owner is a Therapist!) A rainfall shower for a quick cleanse - ready for your exciting day ahead - is set above a full size Cleargreen bath to keep your water warm for long, lazy soaks at the end of your busy day. The Bedroom - A bright, fresh room opens up to a beamed, vaulted ceiling. Warm country pine double wardrobe, ottoman, bedside cupboards and chest of drawers offer plentiful storage. The king size Victorian style bed (complete with bed knobs!) is clothed in quality linen and is positioned so that you can look out at beautiful views across the neighbouring fields and countryside beyond. Large, soft, fluffy towels are provided for your comfort.
