ORCHARD VIEW

Retaining some original features, this period cottage offers comfort and stunning views over the magnificent garden and orchard.. All on the ground floor.
Living/dining room: With Freeview TV, DVD player, beams and Amtico floor.
Kitchen: With electric cooker, microwave and fridge.
Bedroom: With double bed and Amtico floor.
Bathroom: With shower over bath, and toilet.. Both properties: Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi (intermittent signal) included. Laundry service available at cost. Large lawned garden with patio and garden furniture (shared with other properties on-site). Private parking. No smoking. Please note: There is a deep water feature in the grounds. No children under 12 years old.. This pair of garden cottages are set in the grounds of the Jacobean Manor House - Thickwood House, dating back to the 1700’s. During the centuries it grew to become one of the most prosperous farms in the area, and its present owners maintain the stunning gardens and outbuildings in keeping with the house. The cottages were sympathetically converted from a Cotswold stone byre, and retain many traditional features. Although Wi-Fi is availble in each property, due to the rual location the signal may be weak or intermittent. Cosy and comfortable, and with views over the magnificent garden and orchard, they provide a peaceful, countryside retreat and an excellent holiday base from which to explore the surrounding countryside and picturesque villages. Nearby Castle Combe is said to be the prettiest village in England, also famous for its motor racing circuit. Lacock is another picture postcard village, well loved by film-makers for its historical streets and buildings. Lacock Abbey was used in the Harry Potter films. This Are of Natural Beauty enjoys easy access to the Cotswolds, Salisbury Plain and the Marlborough Downs offering stunning scenery for walking and cycling, and the Georgian Spa city of Bath is within half an hour’s drive. Shops and pub 1 mile.
