Old School House
A quaint little former school house, attached to a creative arts centre, nestled into the small valley village of Bleddfa, close to the pretty market town of Knighton, known as being a centre for walkers and situated on Offa?s Dyke. The cottage is a perfect romantic base for couples looking to enjoy the beautiful undulating countryside of the Welsh Marches. Set over two floors, there is a landing-style bedroom with en-suite shower room. There is a compact kitchen and an intimate sitting room with comfy seating and dining area, perfect to relax together after a day spent walking the local woodlands. Outside, you can sit in the small enclosed garden or make use of the arts centre gardens, with the local church as a pretty backdrop. If you fancy a night off from cooking, then why not head over Knighton where there is a selection of local pubs. You are free to walk along local footpaths and in the nearby Radnor Forest, a mile away, a swathe of hill farming and moorlands. You are also close to Knighton, which sits on Offa?s Dyke, the historic border between Wales and England which takes you through the undulating countryside of the Welsh Marches and opens up the fabulous countryside of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, peppered with picturesque historic towns and villages. You are twelve miles from Llandrindod Wells, a Victorian Spa town and twenty miles from the Elan Valley, a magnificent series of reservoirs and Victorian dams, a real industrial piece of heritage. Slightly further afield, you are twenty miles from Builth Wells, home of the Royal Welsh Showground with its timetable of annual events, alternatively a 25 mile drive will take you to the pretty literary town of Hay-on-Wye, with nearby canoeing, kayaking and mountain horse-riding. An ideal romantic retreat for couples looking for fantastic countryside break.
