Mount Severn

Dogs: 3

Sleeps: 13

This five bedroom house with two bed guest wing rests in the heart of Pembroke National Park, with coastal views, an infinity pool and a steam room. Perfect for family and friends to come together at once, this retreat originally built in 1920 is a beach chalet welcoming you into its entrance hall, with french doors past the open courtyard, tropical plantings, and remarkable views. An attractive patterned tile floor with the comfort of under floor heating sweeps through to the open-plan, double aspect L-shaped living area. The apartment bedrooms are beautifully styled with comfortable en-suites, while the ground floor bedrooms are more traditional. The master bedroom boasts an en-suite with sea views and its own private lounge with a guest day bed offering the best view in the house! The single captains bedroom features an en-suite with a magical infinity bath under a glazed roof with probably the best views down the coast of any bathroom, anywhere! This area has pool steps leading down into the (exterior) swimming pool from inside the house and a staircase down to the lower ground level apartment. There are an abundance of seating areas including a casual dining arrangement as well as a more formal layout. The frameless door, in fact the whole wall of the glazed sun room, disappears into pockets and brings you out onto grass decked area, putting green and infinity pool with the most breathtaking views over Freshwater Bay. Access onto the front garden is attractively landscaped with Mediterranean planting, mature trees and shrubs, with the sea facing garden showcasing patios on two levels, a Boules pitch, a private path winding down through a wildflower meadow owned by the National Parks leading directly to the Freshwater East Beach. Situated in a quiet area, popular with walkers and naturalists, stroll east towards remote Swanlake Bay and further to Manorbier to witness the striking red sandstone cliffs, west to Stackpole Quay and on to Barafundle Beach. The bay is broad and wide with a dune backed sandy beach with sheltered rocky sections on the east side. The location is abundant in marine and birdlife, with the dunes behind the beach designated as a local nature reserve called ‘The Burrows’. A precious getaway for all. Six bedrooms.
