Montgomery's Coach House
**RE-OPENING FROM 17th APRIL (SUBJECT TO GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES**
Montgomery's Coach House offers quality, pet friendly accommodation and is an ideal base for visiting the nearby second-hand bookshop capital, Hay on Wye, or touring the English/Welsh borderlands. Sleeping up to four people, it has underfloor heating and a wood burning stove, making it a cosy home from home at any time of the year. The closest pub is all of one minute's walk from the front door! The property is fully self-contained with parking for 3-4 vehicles on a gated driveway, a private deck and grassy area for doggy ablutions. The owners live close by and are on hand if needed but otherwise respect your privacy.
Montgomery's Coach House comprises accommodation for up to 4 people. Upstairs are 2 large bedrooms with the option of super king size or single beds or a combination of both. Both bedrooms are equipped with flat screen TV/DVD players, hairdryers, fans, hot water bottles and lit make-up mirrors. Hypoallergenic bedding is used. The bathroom has a walk-in shower; towels and complimentary toiletries are provided. Individually controlled radiators are located in each upstairs room and on the landing.
Downstairs, there is underfloor heating throughout and a woodturning stove in the living room area. There is a flagstoned lobby leading to an open plan lounge / kitchen space. The lounge has a large flat screen Smart TV, plus BlueRay player and HDMI cable. There is a selection of DVD's and USB charging points on some sockets for guest convenience. Free WiFi is available. The kitchen is stocked with a full range of crockery, utensils, glassware, saucepans, etc. The fridge (with ice box), washer/dryer, dishwasher and cooker are integrated units, plus plenty of spare storage space for your own food, etc.
Outside there is parking for 3-4 cars on a gated driveway; the entire area is for the sole use of the holiday let and is either fenced or gated. There is a deck with table, chairs and parasol, plus a BBQ set for guest use. For canine visitors there is an enclosed grassed area, complete with poo bin.
There is a pub within a minute's walk that allows dogs in the public bar or on the outside terrace where food is served. Alternatively a 5 minute drive away, another pub permits dogs into its cosy bar areas with open fires during the winter months. The bar area is the same as the restaurant menu.
Inside the Coach House, you will find a range of information leaflets, maps and walking information - either from the property or slightly further afield to the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. There is a range of outdoor activities such as canoeing/kayaking, pony trekking, cycling, etc., or you can choose to relax at the pub or take a drive to the historic cities of Hereford or Brecon. The choice is yours!
Our guideline for number of dogs is two, based on the size of the property. However, if you have more, please ask!

Sadly our dog had to be put down a week before we arrived and then the new lockdown has postponed our holiday. We were very lucky to share part of a walk with Steve and Alison and their three gorgeous schnauzers. The cottage is great for dogs. Great garden and all secure. Wonderful entrance hall for dog cleaning and just a brilliant location for dog walks from the cottage. Truly superb and we hope to have a dog or two when we go next year.

Everything you could possibly need is supplied, tea coffee, sugar, milk bread and a bottle of cider plus crisps. Pack of dog treats and dog towels. There is a gated dog garden and the driveway is also gated so your dog is safe as soon as you open the door. Downstairs has underfloor heating so doggy is warm at night. There are lots of walks and maps are supplied. The accommodation and kitchen are modern and luxurious, everything is available. We will definitely be going again. Did I mention how friendly and helpful the owners were,
