Marston Grange Holiday Cottage

Long Marston 1.25 miles. A charming red brick cottage, surrounded by open countryside, set between the villages of Long Marston and Tockwith, eight miles from York. Built on the site of the Battle of Marston Moor, on the Parliamentarian side, this cottage provides ideal accommodation for those wishing to enjoy the many historic attractions of York and nearby Harrogate, with easy access to beautiful countryside. Well appointed throughout, this cottage has a cosy and comfortable sitting room with a warming woodburning stove, and a well-equipped modern kitchen with views over open fields. This cottage on Marston Moor has two pretty bedrooms and a welcoming, homely feel throughout. Outside, an attractive rear lawned garden boasts views across Marston Moor to the White Horse on Sutton Bank, a lovely spot to sit and relax with a morning cup of coffee. Nearby, designated cycle routes lead to Wetherby, a wonderful market town on the River Wharfe, and Harrogate. There are also plenty of public footpaths for walkers to enjoy, including walks on the battlefield where you can trace the footsteps of the Roundhead and Cavalier soldiers during their battle on Marston Moor. An easy drive from this cottage near Long Marston brings you to the walled city of York, with its famous Minster, National Railway Museum and the Jorvik Viking Centre. Explore the ancient streets, steeped in history, take a boat trip on the River Ouse, or partake in afternoon tea in the famous Bettys tea rooms. Equally beautiful is the wonderful old spa town of Harrogate, with its elegant buildings, immaculate gardens and numerous restaurants and pubs. A delightful North Yorkshire cottage, providing a perfect touring base all year round.
