Pewsey 4 miles. This extensive, quaint cottage rests in a peaceful secluded location in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you are looking for a rural retreat with friends and family, look no further than Larkwhistle Cottage as it proudly shows off its idyllc location and warming living areas. The property is accessed down a single track private lane through the Wiltshire countryside, you will be immediately stunned by its charming front lawn. Step through the airy reception room and be invited into the lounge with comfortable leather seating, a stunning woodburning stove in a brick fireplace and a Sky TV for you to curl up and watch during those chilly winter evenings. This cottage even comes with its own dog wash room for you to clean your furry friend after a day in the mud. The dining room is bright and airy, uplifted by the natural light from the patio floors, it has seating for eight so you can enjoy a lovely home-cooked meal together. The ground floor of this characterful property is complete with a cosy little conservatory with bifold doors that lead onto a covered lean-to, and a rustic, country cottage-style kitchen with a fabulous AGA range cooker and a pantry. Take the staircase up to the long and narrow first floor, the bedrooms are dressed in a charming manner with antique furniture, the master bedroom has a spacious en-suite shower room. At the end of the hallway sits the family bathroom home to an elegant roll-top bath and a separate shower. Larkwhistle Cottage is a great place to stay at any time of year with its woodburning stove inside for the colder times, and its wonderful, extensive lawns to walk around in the sun with the luxury of a patio and a summer house too. Enjoy a barbecue under the vine covered pergola. The grass footpath that leads from the private lane crosses fields of thatching wheat that is harvested by vintage tractors and reaper binders, that in late July and August are bound into sheafs and stacked into stooks to dry. Pewsey Vale riding stables is nearby and for fishing lovers there is trout fishing in a lake fed by the Avon five minutes drive away. The village of Pewsey is a great holiday base with its fine choice of shops and pubs along with its picturesque canal. This area is a haven for walkers and cyclists with the North Wessex Downs available as well as a choice of other National Parks nearby. A unique, traditional cottage in a beautiful countryside location. Downstairs is a shower room downstairs as well as bathroom and shower in the en-suite shower room. There is a pantry/utility room with washing machine and drier. There are Bi-fold doors on the conservatory that open onto a covered lean-to area that provides shade or shelter if its raining. There is a bbq and seating area under a vine covered pergola. You can find the crop circle exhibition centre one mile away at Honey Street on the Kennet and Avon canal. There is the Breeding Centre for the Great Bustards (the largest flying birds in Britain with a 2 metre wing span) on the edge of Salisbury Plain, a trip can be arranged to take people by land rover out to the viewing hide.
