Set in two acres of delightful walled gardens on the edge of the White Peaks of the Peak District near Chesterfield, this detached cottage is an ideal touring base. The cottage enjoys lovely views across the hills and wooded valleys of the Derbyshire countryside, yet is only half a mile from local facilities, making it the perfect choice for a break in this wonderful region. The cottage has been extended and sympathetically refurbished, and successfully blends traditional character with 21st century living. The AGA Wenlock multi-fuel stove makes the sitting room a cosy, welcoming retreat after a day exploring this beautiful county, and an indulgent soak in the roll-top bath will be greatly appreciated after a day's walking in the National Park. Enjoy relaxing on your private patio, or indulge yourself in the fabulous hot tub in the owner’s garden. Chatsworth House, Bolsover Castle, Hardwick Hall and the Heights of Abraham are just a selection of the many attractions within a 10-mile drive of the cottage. Bakewell is the ancient capital of the Peak, just under a half an hour drive away and famous for its puddings! The iconic Chatsworth House estate, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, is highly recommended for a day out with a difference. You can admire the splendour of this magnificent building, enjoy afternoon tea, stroll around the garden and choose from an assortment of local delicacies from the award-winning Estate Farm Shop. With so much to do nearby, Gardener’s Cottage is wonderful for couples and small families escaping to the country!
