Fell View
Built from the local stone, this character cottage has lovely views over open countryside. With all the convenience of a thriving village on the doorstep, it's ideal for couples and small families wanting a cost-effective holiday in this gorgeous part of the world at any time of year.
Enter the front door of this convenient mid terrace cottage and you'll find a comfortable open plan living/dining room with seating for 5, plus a TV and DVD player and feature gas coal effect fire. There's also a fully equipped kitchen on the ground floor with access to the garden. There are 3 bedrooms at the aptly named Fell View, enjoying views out to the open countryside. The cottage sleeps 5 in one double, one twin and one single bedroom which share a family bathroom with bathtub, overhead shower, wash basin and WC.
One of the big attractions of Fell View is its proximity to the Howgill fells and there's plenty of walks that start almost on the doorstep. After a long day exploring the countryside, the small and well kept garden and patio area are a great place to unwind. There's also on street parking for one car.
Sedbergh is a popular and bustling village with a range of friendly pubs and restaurants on the doorstep, plus the annual folk festival. It's also a British Book Town making it the ideal place to visit if you love to read! With the countryside so close, it's an easy stroll to Winder hill and there are walks ranging from pleasant ambles to more exacting hikes in the area. Fell View is an ideal base for keen walkers and cyclists who can make use of a shed for secure bike storage.
Just 10 miles from Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale in the West Riding of Yorkshire, Fell View is the ideal jumping off point for those keen to explore the breathtaking scenery of the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. Follow the Dales and Lakes Bookshop trail, or enjoy the retail shopping at Kendal's range of retail parks. Don't forget to take home some of the legendary mint cake that went to the summit of Everest, or take a trip to Levens Hall or Sizergh Castle. There's no wonder the Lakes are one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.
For a budget outdoors break or a cosy family holiday, Fell View in Sedbergh is a perfect base for exploring the best that Eden Valley, the South Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales have to offer.
