Deer How Farm
The cottage lies in an idyllic location, in front of the cricket pitch, described by Alfred Wainwright as the most scenic in England, and between the shores of Ullswater and the slopes of the Ullswater Valley and its stunning fells. Deer How Farm will appeal to guests looking to enjoy the great outdoors. Wordsworth’s "Host of golden daffodils" grew about two miles from the cottage, on the shore of Ullswater, at Glencoyne Bay. They can still be seen today in the spring. For those looking to enjoy a stroll along the shores of Ullswater, or if you’re aiming for the challenging fells, you can enjoy easy access right from the front door. With the much loved, traditional villages of Patterdale and Glenridding close at hand, you can find local shops and village pubs within easy reach.
For those wishing to explore a little further afield, the famous Kirkstone Pass offers a challenging, but scenic route over to Ambleside and Bowness. Down the pass, opposite the Queen’s Head pub, is a farm which was owned by Beatrix Potter. It was bequeathed by her to the National Trust and the Herdwick sheep which she introduced to the farm are still reared there. The popular North Lakes market towns of Keswick and Penrith are just a short drive away, offering a wealth of shops, cafés and restaurants. Shop, pub and restaurant 400 yards.. Ground Floor:
