Croft House - A Charming Dog-Friendly Cottage in Wensleydale Tucked away in the pretty Yorkshire Dales village of Redmire, Croft House is a beautiful traditional cottage with everything you need for a relaxing break in Wensleydale including a delightful enclosed garden and a dog-friendly village pub just a minute's walk away! Sleeping up to four guests and welcoming up to two dogs, Croft House combines traditional Yorkshire Dales character with comfortable modern accommodation. It's a lovely choice for couples, families or friends wanting to explore the countryside together while still having somewhere warm and welcoming to return to at the end of the day. Step inside and you'll find a warm and homely dining kitchen, complete with a superb Rangemaster electric oven and everything you need to prepare a meal during your stay. The dining area looks out towards the rear garden and the impressive Penhill giving you a beautiful view to enjoy over breakfast. The cosy snug is the perfect place to unwind, with a comfortable L-shaped sofa arranged around the log burner. It's an inviting spot to put your feet up after a day exploring Wensleydale, and a great place for your four-legged friends to curl up too. Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms, both with comfortable king-size beds. Full of traditional cottage character, you'll find charming features including slightly sloping floors and low beamed ceilings. There's also a spacious modern bathroom with a deep, wide bath and shower over - perfect for soaking tired legs after a day on the Dales' trails. Outside, Croft House has a south-facing enclosed lawned garden, making it a fantastic space for dogs to enjoy some freedom while you relax and take in the view. The garden looks across an open field towards Penhill and features attractive borders, an old estate wall and a brick-built BBQ. There's also our favourite spot, the “Gin Bench” - where you can sit back with a drink and simply enjoy the peace, quiet and beautiful Wensleydale scenery. For dog owners, the location is especially appealing. You can enjoy countryside walks from the village, return to your enclosed garden to relax, and when you're ready for a drink or something to eat, the dog-friendly Dales village pub is just a minute's walk away. There's plenty to discover close to Croft House. Bolton Castle is only around a mile away, while the spectacular Aysgarth Falls are less than four miles from the cottage. The popular market town of Leyburn is around five miles away, with independent shops, cafés, pubs and plenty of Yorkshire Dales character. The surrounding countryside is perfect for walking with your dogs, with quiet lanes, footpaths, fields and beautiful Dales scenery waiting to be explored. There isn't designated off-road parking at Croft House, as the cottage was built long before cars arrived in the Dales. However, you can stop directly outside to unload your luggage, passengers and dogs before parking in one of the many roadside spaces nearby. Whether you're looking for long countryside walks, lazy mornings in the garden, cosy evenings beside the log burner or a village pub within stumbling distance, Croft House makes a wonderful base for a dog-friendly Yorkshire Dales escape.
