Cornerways Cottage

This charming stone cottage is situated within a designated area of outstanding natural beauty in the village centre of St Just in Roseland, which is itself a conservation area. Cornerways Cottage was built in the 18th century but now boasts all the amenities of 21st century living and is an ideal location for families and friends to explore the delights of Cornwall. The open plan living area has comfortable seating focused around a log burner with a dining area to one side. Beyond this is a newly fitted and well equipped kitchen, which leads on to a modern family bathroom. Upstairs are three spacious bedrooms; two doubles, one of which has an en-suite shower room and one single. From the middle room there are distant views of the estuary. Outside is a terrace within a walled garden which is equipped with dining table and chairs allowing you to enjoy taking drinks or dining in the Cornish sunshine. The village of St Just in Roseland is renowned for its picturesque church which is just a short walk downhill from the cottage and is lapped by the waters of St Just creek. The creek gives access to the wide expanse of The Carrick Roads estuary and there are facilities for boating, sailing and canoeing. If you prefer walking then the South West coastal path runs from the creek along to St Mawes and beyond. St Mawes itself is a beautiful waterside town with a castle and a good selection of shops, restaurants and hotels offering a superb range of dining experiences. From here you can take the ferry to Falmouth, Truro or over to Place Manor, from where it is possible to walk to the lighthouse at St Anthony. The charming village of Porthscatho is also a must to visit, especially on Regatta Day! Here again are several pubs offering a range of food from pub grub to gourmet! There are many fine, sandy and safe beaches close at hand with boat, board and windsurfer hire being available at several. Further afield Cornerways is a good base from which to visit Trellisick House and gardens by crossing the river on the historic King Harry chain ferry, just five minutes from the cottage. It is also easy to plan a day’s visit to The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project, The Minack Theatre, Lands End, St Ives or Newquay. The area boasts many galleries and museums, including The National Maritime in Falmouth and specialist centres devoted to the industrial archaeology of tin and China clay mining. There is so much that is accessible from this ideal location that you will be happy to return to Cornerways to enjoy a relaxing evening with family and friends.

Three bedrooms: 1 x double with en-suite shower room with shower, basin and WC, 1 x double and 1 x single. Ground floor bathroom with bath, hand-held shower, basin. Kitchen. Living/dining room.
