Cobbles House

A traditional 17th century fisherman's cottage, complete with wooden beams and cosy wood burning stove, located in Whitby’s Old Town, just yards from the beach, historic Abbey and famous 199 steps which lead to St Mary’s church. This is a unique opportunity for couples and families to experience a piece of Whitby’s rich maritime heritage.

Step inside this wonderful cottage and feel an immediate sense of comfort and contentment. The open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area are smartly decorated in welcoming hues. There is an exposed brick fire surround, wooden flooring and wall sconces – perfect for relaxed candlelit evenings, chatting long into the night or curled up with a book from the little library.

The bijou kitchen area is well equipped and the dining area is a snug place for relaxed holiday dining.

On the first floor is a tranquil master bedroom with large double bed. There is a stylish shower room with shower, basin and WC.

Head to the second floor where you’ll find a second double bedroom, with adjoining ‘en-suite’ nursery and charming wooden cot – wonderful for parents who need baby close.

An outside decking area with table and chairs is accessed via steep steps.

The atmospheric sights and sounds of the surrounding locality, with its winding cobbled streets, tea rooms and superb centuries-old ‘smokehouse’, will stay with you long after your holiday. The nearby beach, just 50 yards from your front door, is much-loved by dog-walkers. The climb up to St Mary’s is rewarded with impressive harbour views and mesmerising seascapes.

Yorkshire’s coastline offers spectacular cliff-top walks from the fishing village of Staithes, whilst Filey boasts a stunning 5-mile stretch of sandy beach.

Stay a while at this lovely fisherman's cottage and you will be sure to make many happy memories.
