Church Cottage
This charming corner cottage rests in the pretty village of Icklesham, overlooking the stunning countryside of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in East Sussex. With a multitude of walking and cycling trails nearby, including the 1066 walk, as well as the coast just three miles south, Church Cottage is a fabulous base for an outdoor activities holiday, and to explore the picturesque medieval towns of Rye (5 miles), Winchelsea (2 miles), and Hastings (5 miles). Step right from the hallway and be greeted by the spacious yet alluring sitting room.
It is furnished with cosy red sofas, and has wooden beams & pillars, adding a particular charm to the place. Kick back and watch your favourite shows on the 65" Smart TV after a tiring day of exploring the paths that Church Cottage conveniently adjoins. To the other side of the hallway lies the dining room, with plenty of seating for a group meal as well as a window seat and a log burner, should you need a calming and relaxing space to enjoy alone. The kitchen is in keeping with the rural location with its rustic wooden furnishings, and there’s a Sky TV to keep you entertained whilst preparing those hearty meals. At the end of the day, take a walk up the slightly narrow stairs and arrive at the three immaculately finished bedrooms with homely décor to prepare you for a restful sleep. The family bathroom is exquisitely finished with splendid wood-panelled walls and a classy chandelier. The high-quality interior of Church Cottage is matched by its exterior, where you can spend some time relaxing in your own private hot tub with a glass of bubbly. Icklesham is a pretty and tranquil village in which to base your retreat.
There are two fantastic pubs to relax in at the end of each day, both of which serve food, The Queen's Head is just a few steps down the lane from your back door. As well as excellent walking and cycling routes available nearby, there are beaches at Winchelsea, Pett Level, and Camber Sands. The ancient seaside town of Hastings, with its charming buildings and recognisable pier, provides a fascinating day out, as does Rye, with its historic buildings & many antique shops. Both are just 5 miles away. The Norman church of All Saints in Icklesham, from which the cottage takes its name, is situated only 100 yards to the south, and is worth a visit if only to view its unusual 19th century hexagonal porch. Church Cottage is a lovingly furnished cottage in a scenic location.
