Bleat House

Bleat House is situated off the road, towards the far end of a stone terrace in the tiny hamlet of High Lands, close to the village of Cockfield in beautiful Teesdale. This charming, centrally-heated property is suited to families, friends or couples looking for a base from which to explore the regions of County Durham and North Yorkshire and is dog friendly. Entering the property through the securely fenced garden, feel welcomed into a contemporary sitting room with a colourful rug adding a wealth of character to the property. Curl up on one of the armchairs and let the electric fire provide that extra bit of warmth during the chillier winter months, with a Smart TV for all your entertainment needs. Walk through the open archway into the dining space with enough seating for all four guests and makes for an excellent sociable space with the benefit of a second electric fire. The kitchen rests towards the rear of the cottage and has been fitted to a high-standard with worktops providing plenty of preparation space for cooking. Choose from two well-presented bedrooms on the first floor, set up as a super-king-size and twin, both of which have zip and link features for flexible sleeping arrangements. Discover a family bathroom with comes with an elegant bath and shower over so you can enjoy a long soak in the tub at the end of a tiring day. Outside has a South-facing enclosed lawned garden and a decking area where you can sit out of a morning with your cup of tea and a good book. Nestled in the open countryside of County Durham and within reach of the North Pennines AONB, you can join a network of pathways for walking, hiking and cycling opportunities, or enjoy a day out at Hamsterley Forest with its tall pines, classic woodland walks and challenging cycle routes. Further afield is the market town of Bishop Auckland which has a range of tourist attractions that are well-worth visiting such as Kynren show - a captivating experience for all the family. For a spot of history, venture towards Auckland Castle with over a thousand years of history to explore and is set in stunning landscaped grounds.
