Play a round of golf at the 18-hole course at Colvend, or go sailing from Kippford. Enjoy walking or mountain biking in Dalbeattie Forest or traverse the Jubilee Path between Kippford and Rockcliffe. Visit Sweet Heart Abbey, Drumcoltran Tower or New Abbey Watermill. Sea fishing available all along the extensive coastline. Dumfries, 20 miles, home to Robert Burns in his later years, is well worth visiting for its many modern amenities and range of historical sites. Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright are also accessible.
