Kirkbymoorside 3.7 miles. Apple Tree Cottage is a delightful mid-terrace cottage that sits in the quintessential hamlet of Marton, hidden within the East Riding of Yorkshire. A traditional countryside dwelling, this cottage is the ideal base for families of four travelling with their beloved pooch. Step inside the charming living room and place a log on the open fire before snuggling up in the armchair with a captivating book or cosy up to loved ones on the sofa as you watch a movie on the TV. Admire the pretty wood beams that line the ceiling as you make your way through to the kitchen and the notice the beautiful cream units with oak wood worktops, great for preparing the ingredients needed for a delicious home-cooked meal. Whilst the food is cooking in the oven, ensure that the dining table has been set and pour yourself a glass of wine before serving up the food and tucking in to your lovingly made meal. Climb the staircase to the first floor and discover two bedrooms, both decorated with floral tones and traditional furnishings. The first of the bedrooms boasts a king-size bed while the second of the bedrooms is a pretty twin bedroom home to some lovely little teddy bears and a cupboard/wardrobe for storing all of your clothes and belongings. It is on the first floor that you will also find a family bathroom; consisting of a bath, overhead shower, basin and WC, this room provides a great place to freshen up in the mornings or relax and unwind of an evening. For a more luxurious night in, venture out into the courtyard for a dip in the fabulous Swedish log burning hot tub as you sip on a perfectly chilled glass of champagne and toast to a wonderful holiday with your nearest and dearest. For avid walkers there is a lovely river at the back of the house which is accessible from the bridge in the village and makes a beautiful circular morning or evening walk. The town of Malton is a just a 15 minute car journey away and holds Yorkshires most renowned food market on the second Saturday of each month, where you can enjoy an array of different food and drink stalls, perfect for the Gin enthusiasts. Why not take a nice stroll down to the Sun Pub in Normandy, just a 15-20 minute walk away, and enjoy a gorgeous meal on either pie or fish supper night. If you're an avid historian, visit the ancient market town of Pickering to explore Pickering Castle or embark on a chilling experience with a spooky ghost walk with the Pickering Ghost Hunt. Over in Hemsley you will find the imposing monument of Lord Feversham and the medieval stone fortress of Hemsley Castle, as well as Duncombe Park National Nature Reserve where you can stroll through beautiful landscapes, spot the magnificent mansion and even meet the enchanting creatures that fly the skies at The National Centre for Birds of Prey. Dalby Forest for walkers and keen cyclists is very close and York is 40 mins away by car. Spend the day at the nearby family theme park Flamingo Land, where you can meet the exotic residents of the Zoo, ride thrilling roller coasters and watch the exciting swashbuckling show on the galleon. For the history buff why not visit Ryedale FOlk Museum in Hutton Le Hole Hutton just 5 miles away and has walks onto the moor, a superb pub, boasting a roaring log fire, and an artisan chocolate shop where you can see and smell the chocolates being made. Drop down into Rosedale with charming tea shops. Embark on an unforgettable adventure in the East Riding of Yorkshire at Apple Tree Cottage.
