Outside this Ambleside cottage is a shared cobbled courtyard area and across the road is a well-maintained shared lawned garden on the banks of the River Brathay, which flows into Lake Windermere, just a short distance away. This Lake District cottage nestles under Loughrigg and you can explore this pretty area on foot, or you may wish to climb up Loughrigg Fell and enjoy the spectacular views across Ambleside to Wansfell and down to Lake Windermere. From your Ambleside cottage you can enjoy a lovely riverside walk, which takes you to the pretty hamlet of Skelwith and down to Skelwith Bridge and Chesters Cafe. The popular town of Ambleside is one mile away and has many excellent shops, restaurants and cinemas, plus the village of Hawkshead is less than 10 minutes' drive away and has some lovely pubs and cafes serving local ales and delicious cakes. This delightful Ambleside cottage is a perfect base at any time of the year.
