1 The Nook
Nestled on the outskirts of the Lake District National Park, in a lovely area of the village of Great Broughton, is 1 The Nook. With access to the local shop and plenty of places to eat and drink, this end-terrace is perfectly situated for great days out. Ideal for a family of four, or two couples, enjoy a stay in Cumbria, with plenty to see and do in the surrounding region. Step straight into the welcoming lounge, brought together with two sofas and Flat screen TV, this is the perfect place to return to after climbing steep fells and ambling through sweeping grassland. Towards the back of the house is the fresh and modern kitchen, with a range of appliances, perfect for cooking up a hearty meal after a day exploring. Just off from here is a breakfast/dining area with table and chairs for four people. As well as all this, the bathroom lies on ground level, hosting a power shower over a bath, with glossy fittings, and chrome fixtures offering a quality finish. Upstairs the two double bedrooms boast plenty of space and lovely oak and pine furnishings for all of your items during your stay. You have a sunny patio to the rear enjoying the garden furniture, perfect for an early morning coffee or a quiet space to unwind at the end of your day. This village is located just a few miles outside the market town of Cockermouth, with many amenities for you to enjoy and with fantastic days out including the 1770’s National Trust property Wordsworth house, William Wordsworth’s birthplace and childhood home. In Maryport have a great time with the kids exploring the Lake Districts Coast Aquarium, perfect for educating little ones on the local marine life and the environment, or they can have fun exploring on the adventure park with model boats or play mini golf whilst you enjoy a refreshment in the café. Why not visit the Osprey project in Thackthwaite, with two viewing platforms you can watch out for the beautiful rare Ospreys over Bassenthwaite Lake, encouraged by an active breeding plan to get more of these birds back into the local habitat as there are only a few breeding pairs in the country. Explore the beautiful west coast and the town of Workington, at the mouth of the River Derwent, a town steeped in history because of its Coal and Steel works. 13 miles away is the bustling town of Keswick in the heart of the Lake District, with a variety of shopping opportunities, scenic walks along Derwentwater or attractions like the Derwent Pencil Museum or the Puzzling Place, it is full of days out for all the family.
