Who are we?

- Professional & experienced pet carers

We're based in Snodland (Kent), servicing surrounding areas within a 5 mile radius. We have a 5 acre, secure field, bordering Wouldham/Burham, where dogs can go off lead for safe play time and socialisation.

The founder of Pet Trails is Catherine Carolan. Until the end of 2017, Catherine worked for the world's largest oil company (Saudi Aramco), travelling internationally, leading a European team, managing communications and VIP corporate events and projects. Throughout her career, she always felt she'd missed her forte in life, which was to work with animals. After 11 years of corporate life, she decided it was time to pursue her dream and the journey of Pet Trails began. Catherine has had a natural connection with animals since early childhood, from dogs, cats, birds and lizards - it's irrelevant what species. Building relationships with animals and establishing trust, is a wonderful daily challenge to call 'work'.

Catherine has completed professional, accredited CPD pet care, first aid, dog walking and pet care business courses, covering the below subjects and has studied with the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers), for her career as a dog trainer certificate and has an OFQUAL, level 3 Dog training qualification. She's also completed a Business Management and Entrepreneurship level 2 qualification at Goldsmiths University. Catherine also holds an Animal Welfare & Behaviour Certificate from Edinburgh University.

Over the years Catherine has worked as a volunteer home checker for charities re-homing stray dogs and cats, which has seen her spending time with many families welcoming new pets into their homes, allowing her to witness both the successes and the failures this can bring. This has exposed her to many nervous dogs and cats, which she's had the privilege of seeing further down the line, once settled in loving homes.

Catherine has 6 of her own rescue dogs, (including 3 former strays from overseas), which she's worked extremely hard with to overcome their individual issues. All were adopted with significant medical and behavioural issues, which have provided many challenges. They provide endless hours of fun and new experiences and she feels it's a privilege to be able to call them part of her family.
