Founded by Chris Johnstone in 2021, Springfield Dogcare Has a Dedicated Team of Dog Loving Staff, Housed in a Brand New, Purpose Built Building Based near Selby, Yorks. As an adoring dog parent of Roo the Cockapoo, who is much to do with the philosophy behind the concept and ethos at Springfield, it had to be a place that we would be happy to leave our precious little girl, which quite frankly is a tall order, in fact almost impossible. I’m very proud of what we have achieved so far. We have an amazing team to deliver the promise of loving, caring, stimulating and safe day care you can rest assured is second to none. During the Meet & Greet we observe your dog’s reaction the moment they walk through the door. How does your dog respond to the noise of other dogs? How does your dog engage with our team? Is your dog relaxed or tense? If your dog is deemed suitable to progress to the next stage they will be invited to attend day care to undertake a thorough in-house assessment over 4 hours. During this period, you dog is closely monitored by our Play Leader, we will assess their engagement with other dogs, play with team members, dog to dog play, formal handling, response to commands. Throughout the assessment period, the owner is given a “report” of their dog’s behaviour on each occasion, what canine friends they have made, who they have played with and the activities they have engaged with. Where, there are any issues or difficulties, advice is offered, and information provided on the management strategies we have adopted in Day care. We also offer a very special pick up and drop off service to safely take you do to and from our unique facility. You can choose to book either a one-way or return journey in the morning or evening. Simply add your Bark and Ride choice to your day reservation. We have been open 18th months and the daycare is growing every day! We get 36/42 dogs a day we have an big indoor and outdoor area including cinema room, living room, lots of sofas a ball pool and then outdoor we have a large area for all the pooches to run around on lots of different platforms. We have the pool out in the summer it’s fab! We do also have a groomers on site and a pet shop. This year we are expanding and we are currently in the making of a hydrotherapy unit! We can’t wait to see what this year brings us for all of us at Springfield.
