Derby Arms, Longridge
Reviewer: Kathryn Austin

After six hours of the dogs snoring gently to the radio we arrived at our first stop, The Derby Arms, on the edge of the Forest of Bowland. We were met by our nephew, who lives locally, and he introduced us to Longridge Fell which is a five-minute drive from the pub.

The light was already starting to fade so we could not cover the entire eight -mile roundtrip but we did enough to admire the scenery and tire out W&G before returning to settle in for dinner and bed.

The Derby Arms is well prepared for muddy dogs coming into the bar and has thoughtfully reserved a nice section of the restaurant with one of the open fires for guests with pets so you can enjoy dinner together.  The food was excellent and worth visiting for lunch or dinner even if you are not staying over.

In the morning, after a hearty breakfast and walk, we waved goodbye and got on the road and off on the next part of our tour.

Derby Arms reviewed by Kathryn Austin and appears in DogFriendly magazine issue 71.  For more information on the DogFriendly magazine visit https://www.dogfriendly.co.uk/magazine
