Reopening in the summer of 2021, we are a picturesque, independently owned, grade-ii listed country pub that retains its provincial charm and local following.
The perfect spot to enjoy craft beer, real ale, modern pub food and the Chilterns' natural beauty. Our pub welcomes all furry friends and has pints of water as well as treats on tap just for them!
Situated in the heart of Chenies, just outside Chorleywood, The Red Lion is home to all who come across it. With a weekly rotating line of craft beers to choose from and an extensive selection of premium spirits, cask ales and distinguished wines, you will always have something new to discover. You can always enjoy our delightful seasonal menu, featuring traditional pub classics, rich in local produce and finished with a contemporary touch. All of our dishes are freshly made to order by our wonderful team of chefs, who craft new and exciting plates every week. Let us not forget that no country pub is complete without a quaint outdoor seating area, with views of the Chilterns’ natural beauty all around you. We are currently accepting bookings for covered and heated tables. We will also have other tables available for those that do not wish to book, however, these will be first come first served. Furry friends are always welcome, with water bowls and treats available for their visit. We are always proud to serve our community of Chenies and beyond.

They are sensationally welcoming to our little four legged girl every single time we’re there.
The welcome and the affection are all so genuine it makes every occasion a delightful one for the whole family!

We love the red lion. The service is always great and they always welcome our dog with free biscuits etc. We live in an area that is blessed with a number of pubs but The Red Lion is our preferred choice.

Kerry & her staff are always so welcoming! We live in Chenies and when we walk past our dogs drag us over to the pub as they know they are in for some treats!! They both love Kerry and way their tails madly when they see her! Well done The Red Lion for being such a dog friendly local 🏆
