A beautiful and quaint village pub in the heart of Sandford Orcas in Sherborne, Dorset. The Mitre Inn welcomes all customers and their dogs to dine day or night. On entrance to the pub the landlord has provided a doggy ‘biscuit bar’ with free treats and water for all visitors. The landlord, Steve loves his four legged customers and is known to capture them on his camera or phone ready to share with others on social media. He looks forward to welcoming new and existing customers as he starts his new adventure as the landlord at this picturesque pub.

When out for a walk one evening with our dog we came across this wonderful pub. It had a water bowl outside for the dog so we stopped thinking we would need to sit outside we took a seat on the picnic bench. The owner can out to say hello to our dog with some treats and we were told we were more than welcome to sit inside if we wished.

I have the most amazing memories with the owners dogs and our dogs in this pub, I have grown up with them and have always loved it!

Going to the Mitre Inn is such a lovely experience. They have a good selection of home cooked food at affordable prices.
All the staff are friendly and down to earth. Especially Steve, the new landlord.
Dogs are welcome at all times and are given treats.
The Mitre Inn is a welcome retreat from all the gastro pubs. It is increasingly rare to find an old fashioned pub that welcomes drinkers and diners in equal measure.
I thoroughly recommend an evening there.
