The Black Swan

We are a very dog friendly, family run hotel with 2 AA rosettes, a restaurant and bar with glamping yurts in the heart of the Howgills. We are the winner of AA pub of the year for 2018/19 for England and take great pride in our beer and food offerings. All of our rooms are very different as we are a Victorian gothic style hotel with individually decorated rooms. In total we have 16 rooms inside the main building as well as our 3 new canvas yurts outside in our woodland/ riverside garden. All of our rates include breakfast for 2 people. We accept dogs in our 3 beautiful riverside yurts, our 4 dog friendly rooms and you can dine with us with your four legged friends in our bar and lounge. Our yurts all have full size furniture, electricity and access to our shared, hot, open top, woodland shower and eco toilet. Dogs are welcome in all 3 yurts as well as the beer garden and courtyard.

We are perfectly situated for an over night stop on the way to or back from Scotland as well as being nestled in the middle of the Howgills for lots of lovely walks as a destination in itself. We are located in both The Yorkshire Dales National park (even though were in Cumbria - yes it doesn't make a lot of sense but its true), The Westmoreland Dales, Cumbria itself and only 30 minutes from Lancashire, Scotland and the Durham Dales. So many places to explore!
