North Lakes Hotel

Part of the review from the DogFriendly Magazine "Nestling within picturesque landscaped grounds just outside Penrith, the North Lakes Hotel is ideally placed if you fancy exploring the Lake District, at only 10 minutes by car from Ullswater and 30 minutes from Keswick, which has earned a reputation as one of the most dog-friendly places in the lakes. There are plenty of landmarks nearby including several castles and the Eden Valley is a real highlight. It’s picturesque and quiet, with fewer of the crowds that you find elsewhere in the lakes. And there’s a wide variety of walking opportunities...We had a super time at the hotel and would recommend it if you have a dog. However, although there’s a mixture of standard rooms and suites, only three welcome dogs so check when you make a reservation that one of them is available. The hotel goes beyond what most guests expect with extras that include a mini-fridge with fresh milk and a capsule coffee machine. There’s complimentary WiFi and guests can use the spa facilities or just relax beside the fire with a warming drink. Ideal after a day enjoying the amazing landscape."
