Moorview House

We offer 3 en-suite rooms where peace and tranquility are paramount. Moorview house is situated opposite the Grade 2 listed finger post sign at Gammaton Moor Cross with views towards Dartmoor in the distance. Come and witness the beautiful sunset, as it slips below the hillside, from our courtyard. We offer cosy, private accommodation ideally situated for tourists, walkers, surfers cyclist in fact anyone wanting a base to explore this beautiful area. Storage facilities are available for you cycles, boards and fishing tackle.

Moorview House B&B is ideally placed for exploring the North Devon coast. We are only 3 miles from Bideford , also known as the “Little White Town”, which is situated on the River Torridge. In the other direction you have the pretty town of Great Torrington which is also home to The Royal Horticultural Society’s Rosemoor Gardens, Dartington Glass and the 1646 civil war heritage Center. For walkers and cyclists there are many country lanes to explore plus we are close to The famous Tarka Trial which offers 180 miles of walks/cycle routes with stunning scenery. For keen fishermen, we have the 1.5 acre lake at Gammaton - a first class mixed fishery, within 2 minutes walk where day passes can be purchased. For surfers we are within a short drive to the popular surfing spots of Westward Ho!, Croyde, Woolacombe and Putsborough Sands. There are 2 local pubs, The Hunters Inn and The Cydre Presse within a few minutes drive and an array of restaurants and bars in nearby Bideford. There is a farm shop at the end of the lane which offers a full range of local produce. The market town of Barnstaple with its listed Pannier market is within a scenic 20-minute drive. The magical unspoilt island of Lundy can be reached by ferry from Bideford. 

The Studio: Sleeps 2. Super Kingsize bed (Or Twin). 2 small dogs or 1 medium dog allowed. This room can also be converted to a twin room, please confirm at time of booking. The studio comprises a cosy lounge area, bedroom with luxury en-suite bathroom. The bathroom has a free standing bath and separate shower cubicle. For your enjoyment there is a 19inch TV to watch while you soak away the stresses of the day. It is located in the oldest part of the building in a former barn with cob walls and a vaulted ceiling. There is a hidden kitchenette in the cupboard in the lounge for making drinks and snacks. This incorporates a microwave and a 6 place dishwasher. (This is our only allocated dog friendly room)
French windows lead to the communal patio and path to your private fully enclosed garden. This garden is also perfect for your 4-legged friend, they will love exploring the “natural” areas of the garden. Including the meadow style grassed area. The patio area has a table and 4 chairs and is perfect for watching the sun go down whilst sipping a chilled glass of wine/beer.
