Another Place, The Lake is the first in a new hotel collection with a relaxed, active and social ethos. They’re all about getting outdoors, using the landscape, trying something new, discovering and exploring. Then coming back inside to relax and eat and drink well with friends.
Dogs are welcome at Another Place all year round. With Ullswater and the fells on your doorstep, the Lake District is a permanent playground with endless space, footpaths, trails, lakes and rivers waiting to be explored. Our 18 acres of secluded Lake District National Park and shoreline offer early risers the space to exercise your canine companions before breakfast and heading out for the day.
Dogs can accompany you in The Living Space and terrace, in both of our family cottages and in any of our 10 dog-friendly rooms.

Dog friendly rooms didn't feel penalised in an inferior room as have felt in other hotels. Lots of outside space for walks.

Overall, this was one of the best dog-friendly hotels I've visited with my dog. The staff are friendly, the location is breathtaking, and there is a good cafe/restaurant area where you can eat accompanied by your dog. They even had a vegan menu for us. I gave four instead of five stars because not all the bedrooms are dog-friendly, and we could only use one of the restaurants. We had to get our breakfast separately from the breakfast room where dogs were not allowed and carry it to the cafe/restaurant area. I just feel that when you pay the same if not sometimes more than others, you shouldn't be penalised because you have a dog. There is still a lot of prejudice against dogs and dog owners. I'm sick of being charged the same and getting a lot less. However, I will reiterate that this was one of the best and most friendly dog-friendly hotels I've visited.
