Hackney Barkers, an independent boutique & dog grooming salon As a small business, our goal is not just to make your dog feel and look their best, but to make a positive impact on our community and planet. For us, it is essential to be associated with brands that match our ethos and this is why we are proud to share with you the products we use during the grooming session and allow you to purchase them in our boutique area. We exclusively work with cruelty-free products that are made using only natural, organic and vegan ingredients. ‘Wild for dogs’, our main supplier, is an independent business that hand-makes each and every product locally to guarantee the highest quality possible. Together, we will donate 50p for each product sold to the ‘Wild At Heart Foundation’, an amazing charity that aims to reduce the world's stray dog population. Transparency and trust are at the base of a long-lasting relationship. As enthusiastic as we are to introduce you to our products, we are proud of our shop and we are excited to invite our customers to visit our grooming area. A working space developed with the dog’s needs and safety in mind, installed with an electric bath and a hydraulic grooming table that lowers to accommodate large, elderly dogs and those with joint pain. ​Jade, Hackney Barkers's owner and head groomer is an established and caring all-round dog groomer, with over 10 years of experience. After completing her course in 2011 at a renowned dog grooming school, Jade was hired as a grooming assistant there, where she mastered her skills. The transition from assistant to head-groomer was surprisingly fast and she soon became a grooming teacher and assessor for others to gain their City and Guilds Dog Grooming Level 2 and 3. In 2012, Jade began participating in multiple dog grooming competitions, climbing through the classes and reaching the highest level all around the United Kingdom and Europe. Jade immersed herself into all aspects surrounding dog grooming, gained Higher City and Guild qualifications, and even hosted her own ‘Alternative Grooming’ seminar for a large dog grooming event in the UK. Wanting a greater understanding of dogs, she enrolled herself in a Dog Behaviour and Psychology course and recently gained a Diploma in Canine Nutrition.
